The GEFS has very little snow on its mean through 10 days. Slightly less than 6Z and 0Z.

One thing I have noticed on multiple models is our southern stream energy being sheared out as it approached us. The UK looked like a big hit on the first wave but shears out the energy. Other models are doing this as well.

We do get a winter storm on the 13th ion the GFS

It shows quite a bit of sleet and ZR in WNC and parts of NE GA and the upstate.

The air is colder and drier in front of the system and screams ice potential for CAD areas

GFS is going to look a little different this run for the first storm

That is what's concerning me the most. We all know the op runs will be all over the place but for the ensembles to back off that much in a few days is not a good sign.

10th. The first two threats are now rain on the GFS.

Our snow mean is vanishing quickly.

The ensemble snow mean has dropped significantly again. It was up near 6 inches now it's 2.5.

Tonight's model runs have not been kind for snowlovers. The PNA isn't looking as positive as it was a few days ago which is leading to the SE Ridge for the 6th/7th storm then it's too cold and suppressed and the low is in the central gulf.

The initial storm that the Euro was showing as snow earlier has gone back to a cutter tonight but it sets the stage possibly for a Miller A after...models obviously all over the place

The UK looks like it was setting up something good past 180 hours. Hard to extrapolate but looked better than the GFS.

The GFS shows how we can still fail. Cold never gets entrenched and we get lots of cold rain until the full arctic blast then it's cold and dry.

We used to get a lot of snow to sleet to ZR storms.

I always want more inland fishing videos from them but Luke has done an amazing job with their channel. Watching the snow camping/survival videos helps with the winter doldrums.

The EPS mean decreased from 5.3 to 4.0 here

This would be deep winter like we haven't seen in decades. Wind chills like this with 1-2 feet on the ground. A man can dream...

What are you talking about? Maybe I'm behind but the storm the GFS is showing as possible snow in northern NC/VA looks like this on the Euro
