  1. Euro is not trending south anymore. Slightly north of 18Z and similar to 12Z. Not much frozen precip in NC.
  2. https://www.americanwx.com/bb/topic/61436-mid-to-long-range-discussion-2025/
  3. We haven't had a severe ice storm since the 2000's. Usually we luckout and it's more sleet or it's 33 and rain
  4. Mostly sleet and ZR this run. Basically no snow south or VA
  5. GFS is north and amped. Folding to the Euro per normal.
  6. Happy New Year Foothills crew. It's been a hell of a year for most of us. I still have silt and mud from the Catawba River in my backyard. Finally got rid of most of the debris. Every day driving to work I see destruction still. Bridges out, mangled trailers and houses. I think we've all gone a bit numb to it. I hope 2025 is prosperous for all of us in the snow department and we avoid all major natural disasters!
  7. Ass thunderstorms are never good. Taco Bell usually ups the odds of those in my house.
  8. Another snowless winter.. every snow drought record is shattered.
  9. Right now they are changing... in the wrong direction. Much of NC went from a snow mean over 4 inches a few days ago to less than 2 inches. If we make it to January 16 it will be 3 years since the last measurable snow for a lot of us. I put the odds at 75% that we make it there with no snow here.
  10. Long range Euro ENS is ugly for snowlovers. Like others have said, the trough looks like early December too far NE.
  11. I hate to say it but it's looking like first storm then no storms for at least a week. If we don't score from the first storm we may find ourselves waiting until mid month. Every model is suppressed until then.
  12. Euro is close with that overrunning moisture. If it comes over WNC it could lay down a couple inches or snow
  13. The UK is even further north for the first wave.
  14. Looks like suppression city for the next wave. Gulf Coast getting some light wintry precip.
  15. Looks like the Canadian will be ice for CAD areas.
  16. We are only talking 6 days out and there's huge model disagreement.
  17. Only hundreds of miles south of the Euro. No biggie.
  18. GFS is consistent that the storm is well south leading to snow/sleet/ZR threat
  19. DC looks like the sweet spot for storm 1. I am not expecting more than a cold rain for most of NC for that one.
  20. Almost had freezing fog this morning. Was 34 and socked in. 53 in Asheville and sunny.
  21. Models are trending on delayed cold east of the Apps.
