  1. Euro dropped a big snow on WNC mountains next Friday..
  2. Theres a bit of a southwesterly orientation of the flow looking at radar and I can smell the paper mill in downtown Asheville.
  3. Already almost 50 in Marion maybe you guys can get some convective snow showers
  4. It will be an interesting day tomorrow in Asheville. NWS calls for some rain in the valley with a high in the 40s.
  5. It's a lot warmer than i expected even in Asheville its not that bad. Mid 40's when they forecasted 30's. Looks like there was a good dusting here but it was pretty much gone by 8 a.m. I expect similar amounts tomorrow here
  6. Shouldn't giving the winter a grade..1. Wait until April and 2. Have it's own thread?
  7. And this https://www.weather.gov/jkl/198704_snowstorm
  8. Best I could come up with http://climate.ncsu.edu/climate/winter/event_details?e=117
  9. Looks like we will be following severe weather soon
  10. Of course as soon as i post this the Euro looks less impressive and doesn't dig the trough as deep..
  11. I think the setup for later next week is the best of the season for NWFS. The orientation of the moisture looks good and with the ,low bombing out near the northeast it could be a good one... The GFS looks juicy
  12. My forecast turned out ok but I missed out for Rainforrest and was a bit high in some other areas. I thought I was conservative but not enough. Each storm is a learning experience..
  13. I'm out driving around and we have some light rain and drizzle in parts of McDowell.. Its going to be a skating rink later if the wind doesn't pick up
  14. I don't lol but glad some got their best snow of the season. We had more back in January. Looks like a possible robust NWFS later next week followed by a cold blast and possible piece of energy diving down with the trough. Interesting times ahead
  15. Hope y'all in the eastern part of the state do well. It was a big bust for pretty much all of western NC. Even high elevations didnt get much more than a couple inches max.
  16. The nam got my hopes up showing 4 to 6 inches here for multiple runs but it was nice watching it snow most of the day
  17. Lol this storm has been an interesting one. I barely have a dusting in Marion and even places about 3k feet are struggling to get more than an inch
  18. Interesting drive to Marion from Asheville. Maybe .5 in Asheville/Black Mountain. On top of Old Fort mtn there was maybe 1 to 1.5 and the road was getting a bit slick in places. Back to Old Fort there was a solid dusting that tapered to a light dusting in Marion. Light snow falling and 32.7 at the house
  19. Cold way to start off March on the Euro
