  1. I just really think the center is reforming north of Cuba guys
  2. The low level center will get exposed and the rain/convection will fly off to the north. The center will slowly move wnw and weaken.
  3. We had another .60 today already, #junglelife
  4. Yea its similar to what happened in 1916 in western NC. We have now had 3.3 here now since Wednesday. I'm really hoping we can dodge a tropical hit the next few months because it will only take widespread 4 to 6 inches for a big time flood. Frances was the worst flood here in my lifetime in 2004 and it wasn't this wet before the storm.
  5. We could still see effects from Laura especially with tropical moisture and rain late in the week. If it trends further east obviously it would be more
  6. And we got .70 last night for a total 2.7 since Wednesday.
  7. Now we are too. Crazy how easily it can pour at night in August
  8. Seems to be trending to weaker 14/Marco and possibly stronger Laura
  9. Y'all are both beating me up here closer to the Blue Ridge we have 8.5. That's one reason the water levels aren't higher on the Catawba, Broad, and others. The mountains have had less rainfall than the foothills and western piedmont. Water levels still high though
  10. I'm up to 8.5 inches for the month after 1.6 since midnight
  11. We have had 1.6 now since Wednesday and probably 2 to 3 more today.
  12. Wow 14 inches is amazing considering there hasn't been any tropical systems
  13. Had summer thunderstorm number 100 today with .72 in the gauge (6.8 for the month). Think we can get to 10 inches for the month, maybe a lot more with tropical trouble
  14. Starting to get a little concerned about flooding from tropical systems the next few weeks. Looks like a general 1 to 3 inches by the weekend from an upper low before any potential tropical trouble.
  15. That means a snowy winter for sure after his last few winter forecasts!
  16. We were lucky about 50 miles to your west. We have only had 2.75 total.
  17. I agree, definitely a big lull right now and many of the named storms we have had have been weak and way out to sea
  18. Went over 5 inches for the month today with 1.15 on the day. z
  19. You must have the shetley rain guard installed
  20. Nasty storm here with about an inch of rain in 30 minutes. Sun already back out
  21. Some parts of mcdowell had over 4 inches of rain yesterday evening. Just a harbinger of things to come I'm afraid
  22. Looks like flood threat picks up this weekend especially for escarpment areas with low level easterly flow
