Brad P said no snow east of the mountains on Facebook so it must be true...
-
The Canadian was pure insanity
-
I was about to say the same thing. It holds that energy back too long or we would have had a wintry scenario
-
That's crazy... I have 3 nights below 20 already. Last winter had about 5 total and our coldest night last winter was in early November.
-
25 last night, our 4th night already of 25 or below. Last year we only had 7 all winter...
-
Saw some flakes in Asheville before heading back down the mountain. Feels like winter

One trend I have seen living here in foothills since about 2000 is snow less winters usually bring about snow less winters and its hard to break the cycle. The winters of 2005-06, 2006-07, and 2007-08 had very little snow as did the winters of 2011-12, 2012-13. Its almost like we alternate 3 year stretches of snowy winters with very little snow. I know there is more that goes into it but it's an interesting trend here over the past 20 years or so. Hopefully we buck that this winter.

I'm only 1,250

what happened to Brick

I lived in Danville for 4 years

I could definitely see up to a few inches on car tops and in the grass for areas from Roanoke to Gretna to Lynchburg over to Richmond.
-
Doesn't matter for us, will be rain either way
-
NAM shows basically nada which is a bit strange since its usually the most amped model in this range
-
This little quick hitting system had some really heavy rain here. Its only rainwd for about 3 hours but I have about an inch of rain.
-
Euro is no dice, has some decent precip with the overrunning but too warm for most.
-
The short range Canadian is backing off moisture too, be interesting to see if the GFS and Euro follow suit
-
Mitchell definitely doesn't do as well in these setups but makes up for it with Gulf Lows.
-
I'm in a good cooling spot too for the foothills and had 19 the last 2 nights. Interesting little setup Monday night with the overrunning then it looks to warmup some the following week before the next cold front.
-
The ULL is looking better for this Friday/Saturday especially for high elevation folks. If it tracks right it may be bigger than this system with a lot of moisture.
-
I'm just dreading the 2 to 4 inches of rain in the next week. I honestly could use a few weeks of cold, dry, nw flow
-
Models trending away from snow and cold? Preposterous!
-
Models have seemed to trend less and less snow next week from first system and may be another heavy rain with 2nd
-
Picked up .65 last night with another couple inches likely before the month ends. Not quite as wet as previous months but still way above average
