Hmmm.. Just one run but this system will be close to a heavy snow for the mountains and foothills

One thing is for sure.. it doesn't look like we will be without a lot of systems with the hyper active Pacific. Someone is going to flood soon

It's still generally 5 to 10 degrees above average on non rainy or wedge days. I guess that's an improvement over last year still but we are going to have to wait a while for any snow chances

January is looking like it will be more above average than December unless the last 2 weeks are frigid

I went up to Spruce Pine earlier and was surprised by how much snow was still on the roads. It was 28 in Marion and 16 in Grassy Creek.

It's inching closer to freezing here now. Trying to decide where I want to drive tomorrow to see some Christmas snow. Will be my son's first snow

Yea I wouldn't hold my breath, here near Marion just off the mountain we had 30 minutes of sleet and a little snow but no accumulation

Oh they got whacked for sure but not 5 to 7 inches like the HRRR and NAM were suggesting. 2 to 3 invhes max most places I have seen

We didn't get any accumulation here and the temp is actually stuck at 34.8 for the past 30 minutes or so. Seems like the short range models were too bullish for most areas especially Buncombe County

Finally got some flakes, and still some IP. It's very light though, downsloping always causes issues here. Still a nice treat!
