  1. West Asheville got hit pretty good, no rain gage but I would say at least an inch of 1.5. Just a trace in Marion today.
  2. Yeah this is the worst smoke we have had this summer.
  3. Another monsoon and decent storm. Over an inch of rain and still raining. Puts my 5 day total at close to 4 inches... got standing water in the yard. Rarely happens in July.
  4. Crushed again in McDowell. Closing in on 2 inches today from a severe storm to go with the .78 from yesterday evening.
  5. Some places south of me have 2 or 3 inches. I have .78 with some light rain still. Constant thunder since 8 pm.
  6. We are getting rocked this evening. Already half an inch and more to come it appears. Lots of thunder.
  7. I just want watermelons. They don't like long dry spells but when it's harvest time it's better to be dry.
  8. Its usually not that dry but slightly dryer than areas like SW McDowell and up near Linville. Some years storms roll off Mt Mitchell and comes right over central McDowell. That hasn't been the case this year so far. Regardless, the Euro is not doing well with summer thunderstorms this year.
  9. I think every time I post about it being dry I get flooded. We have almost 2 inches today and still raining
  10. We haven't had any measurable rain the last 3 days. I'm glad we got the heavy rain in late June because it looks dry in the lee areas the next 10 days.
  11. We somehow got a trace at the house with other places getting nailed.
  12. We have been mostly dry the last 2 days. This weekend looks pretty stormy though.
  13. Picked up .57 to start off July right where June left off. Most thunder we have had in a day in a long time.
  14. MCS are notoriously hard to predict. There could be another late this evening
  15. This air quality is terrible. I will be glad when the smoke is gone
  16. I picked up .45 yesterday total and I have about 7.50 for the month.
  17. Big storms near the blue Ridge firing quickly
  18. Real nasty stuff firing along the blue Ridge
  19. Models are less impressive too. I do think all the MCS rolling across the past few days have helped stabilize things a bit.
  20. They are but will it give the atmosphere time to juice back up? It can cap things.
  21. I think this mornings MCS will really limit things west of 77. Not that it's the prime spot anyways.
