  1. 39 and cloudy here now with virga. 5 degree drop and it's close
  2. Latest HRRR still bringing the goods. Too bad the NAM isn't.
  3. I'm beginning to think tomorrow is the best chance for accumulating snow here this winter. It may not be much but the models are actually increasing totals generally for the northern foothills and piedmont
  4. It's over. Even the mountains will be lucky to get a few more inches of snow on the year. Trout season, gardening and thunderstorm season is around the corner.
  5. Looks like a brief cooldown on the Euro and not that cold. Highs in the 50s except the mountains.
  6. Yep the pattern has been the same all winter. I'm dreading the 2 to 4 inches of more rain next week(end). I'm already over 2 for the month and have 13 for the year.
  7. It's only 10 days away even 10 days from now
  8. Looks pretty nasty on radar now going through Haywood.
  9. Euro says not so fast about the 10th. Storm in the midwest.
  10. With that being said of course the models could trend to delaying again but today was a big step towards a big cold snap.
  11. It's only the first week of March so of course everything is going to get killed that came out 3 weeks early. Widespread 20s and teens are pretty likely. Some upslope areas might see their heaviest snowfall of the season if it sets up correctly. It can snow really heavy in March with the dynamics.
  12. Cold keeps getting delayed on the models... sound familiar? I doubt it will be more than a transient cool shot. Frost and freeze maybe but no real cold outbreak or snow
  13. Mid March could be a legit threat for wintry in NC. Especially I 40 north.
  14. Bugs are hatching like crazy in McDowell. Lots of trees are budding out and its almost time to cut the grass.
  15. I had a little hope a few days ago but this southeast ridge is just too strong. The upcoming blocking and -NAO will likely just prevent 70s and 80s and give us 40s and 50s and rain.
  16. Nasty day with the wind here in West Asheville. Some flurry/snizzle action at times. Looking long range, I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel for the mountains and adjacent foothills. Yes the next 10 days to 2 weeks are going to be warm but I think we switch to colder in March.
  17. I agree 100%. Another inch at least tonight and more next week seems a certainty. We are looking at yet another month of well above average rainfall.
  18. CAD now stands for cool(er) air damming. You know 50s and rain.
