Although it rained quite a bit the last few weeks it's dried out completely in a few days due to the incessant wind. It has gusted over 40 mph for 3 days straight. That's rare even in Winter..
Pretty rare for the last day of April even in the higher elevations.
It's pretty windy here and odd to see the trees with full leaves whipping around in winter like winds.
Hard to know what will exactly happen but the models have been showing less and less heavy rain totals the last few days. There were some 4 inch plus runs now most have the majority of our area at 2 or less.
Yeah this is one of the coldest places in the county on calm clear nights. I'm really close to the Catawba and in a valley. Of course it's also one of the last places to turn over to snow as well due to lower elevation than most of McDowell.
Fishing just ain't what it used to be. Too many people, too few fish. There's so many houses and developments now it's no wonder streams like South Toe have trouble maintaining a good level.
