  1. I fenced in my back yard years ago and rented a post hole driller. That thing was a beast and beat me up pretty good. I found out quickly that they weren't lying when they named my part of town Graniteville.
  2. I'd appreciate the NNE warm season thread more if it would actually get warm!
  3. I have a push cart but I go through phases using it and not using it. Most of my golf is 9 holes and I like not having to mess around unfolding and folding it, especially when you are rushing to make your tee time.
  4. We were hiking in the Groton State Forest yesterday and my son was asking about some of the old stone walls in the middle of the forest near 2000’ feet. I told him about settlers coming up and clearing the forest for farms. I the. Told him that as soon as land in the Midwest started opening up, many of them beat feat west as fast as they could. Can you imagine the look on their faces when they realized the ground out there wasn’t filled with rocks. They must have exclaimed “SMDH - Smacketh mine dang head!”
  5. I have never liked any seafood. It's weird, my parents loved all sorts of seafood and my son does too. I wish I did like it, it would make visits to the ocean more fun. Imagine having to be the only guy to ask for the chicken tender basket when everyone else is ordering the seafood platter!
  6. I ate a McDonald's Filet O' Fish once.
  7. I saw someone suggest greenskeepers cut holes shallower and leave cups sticking an inch out of the hole. That way flags don’t have to be removed and you don’t have to reach into the cup.
  8. Was rooting for Fleetwood. As soon as hit hit his second on 18 I knew it was wet.
  9. On the heels of the WGC and the one that Tiger is hosting at Riviera. A lot of these guys don’t do 3 in a row anymore.
  10. I was out yesterday so I couldn't watch the tournament live. I was going to watch it on replay but as soon I heard he won I decided not to.
  11. Read that. I’ve never cared for Reed and that just cements it.
  12. The putter reall let him down last week. At one point, I think I heard he missed 6 putts of less than 10'. You can't win doing that.
  13. Nice pics below. I live in Barre and work in Montpelier at the Attorney General’s office. Montpelier is a neat town. A couple of good restaurants. Pretty much shuts down after 5:00 and on weekends when all of us state employees go home.
  14. Capital Plaza? I work across the street.
  15. Watch out for drifting and white outs on your way up. The high elevation on I-89 between exits 3 and 7 can get particularly bad.
  16. Hopefully you’re here already Fozz. The roads are not good.
  17. I feel bad for Finau, he just can't seem to get over the finish line. I listened to quite a bit of it on satellite radio driving home from Maine. Stopped for dinner with Finau leading by 2, came back out to hear Simpson sink the winning putt.
  18. I’ve found the corporate world just isn’t designed for places like ours either. Member owned, lots of volunteer hours to keep things going. Golfer numbers dropping and most of those just want to pay a fee and play. They don’t want to be involved beyond that.
  19. The golf industry is tough. In much of the country it’s been overbuilt and the number of golfers has been dropping. High end courses so well but many are real estate ventures where the course is an amenity. This article talks about it. https://www.turfnet.com/news.html/tough-times-are-taking-the-fun-and-memories-out-of-golf-r834/
  20. You could get ours for less than $400k. It’s a bargain!
  21. Demographics and a 10 year hangover from tropical storm Irene. We had to borrow over $200k to repair from the floods and the debt service is eating us alive. We are a member owned 9 hole course and the golf business is tough enough when you only have 6 months per year at most to make your money.
  22. I’m just looking to keep the course I’m president of out of bankruptcy.
  23. Nice. That will be good for the Rangeley region.
  24. Sad day for winter sports lovers https://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2019/11/21/end-jake-burton-was-smart-unflagging-champion-snowboarding/kdCQF7zWR9hq5rcRQiUzpJ/story.html?outputType=amp&event=event12
  25. Mommy, daddy is yelling "F**king BOS!" again. I'm scared.
