  1. Suns out and it’s torrential rain. Very odd. There has to be a rainbow somewhere.
  2. What a win. Mood turned around considerably . A good Sunday.
  3. No hitter in the 8th to tie game 4-4. Wow.
  4. Fenway is LOUD! Sac fly ties this.
  5. Yeah he shouldn’t be at the plate right now. Edit: Bad take by me. No outs, top of order coming up. Let’s do this.
  6. And a run! Edit: There’s a second run!
  7. Brutal. They are in panic mode. Can’t really blame Durran there when the veterans are just swimming at everything thrown near the plate. Games over with Workman coming in.
  8. I still think it’s a tryout before the trade deadline. I bet they keep him till end of the month. I still want him up at bat over Franchy. The Sox are all pressing hard right now. 3 strikeouts this inning and only still going cause of the passed ball.
  9. Josh Taylor rolled his testicles off the mound there in a wheelbarrow in the 7th. Rios started the inning, got one out and then walk, hit by pitch, walk bases loaded. Taylor comes in with that mess and only 1 out and gets out of it.
  10. Fukkin’ Red Sox getting no-hit right now by a guy who beats his wife. Not a good look Sox. Maybe that’s why I’m testy. Couldn’t care less about COVID but I’ll get wound up over the Red Sox.
  11. True it’s not COVID per se, it’s the same takes every day. Hopefully something new comes about. Some new studies or something to talk about. ”Get the vaccine.” ”No.” “Get the vaccine.” ”No.” ”It’s your fault.” No it’s your fault.”
  12. It’s a weather forum. I just don’t get how you two have the energy or care enough about COVID to debate it every single day. It was interesting last year. Tip of the cap though. Cut out the media and the banter thread to remove COVID from life .
  13. A couple of you should just PM each other all day long lol.
  14. Looks like a good soak up at home… local stations ~0.70” so far.
  15. Yeah looping the winds there are several waves moving through, but the flow lingers NW more than it is backed to the south. Looks like intrusions of maritime air from the south briefly but that snuck up on me how much cooler of a look later this week is.
  16. Nah, there’s NW flow in there. Models have 50s for Td even down in CT for Wed/Fri/Sat. Most humid is next 24-48 hours.
  17. Run of below normal coming this week it looks like? All valid at 18z snapshots. Wed Thur Fri Sat
  18. Yeah the ORH dews definitely have been pretty steady below the other sites by a few degrees. Not sure how elevation plays into that, I almost expect the valleys to mix out more with higher T-Td spread than the hilltop. I don’t doubt the dew at the local stations are higher, they always are. Just our “real feel” in my mind is calibrated to the ASOS readings. Like it feels outside as it does when those stations record mid-50s but maybe it’s always been 60F, just didn’t know it. And yeah, Graham and my cousin (his wife) own the camp next to my parents’. Plenty of beer will be drank at the big campfire tonight.
  19. It honestly doesn’t feel like that for a dew point. Without a doubt feels like low to mid 50s but I’m calibrated to the ASOS dews, so low 60s at PWS probably makes sense. All the family here can talk about is how refreshing the air mass feels. I was just swimming with your mechanic and the Tolland crew . Dew points: ORH 49F BDL 53F IJD 53F
  20. My old uncle was just telling us about his old outhouse he keeps for nostalgia (obviously has plumbing and two indoor bathrooms now). It’s been pumped and cleaned and no one uses it. He said the ground water is so high the hole has a couple feet of water in the outhouse. He’s never seen that in the summer before and it’s been there since the 1950s when he started building camps here.
  21. That stuff coming out? Or are you forever getting a cavity search by TSA for setting off the metal detectors?
  22. Dude, go read about sports or something for a while. Relive the Blizz of ‘05. Anything other than COVID .
  23. Another top 10 day in CT. Probably some of the best, most comfortable weather I can remember for July down here in past several years of visits. Upper 70s over 50s with strong sun. Hot enough for swimming, but nice enough to do other activities too. Difference between sun and shade is high today.
