  1. 0.10” this evening and 0.30” on the day… this stuff just continues to pump the low level moisture. So humid outside this evening after the brief downpour. MVL hit 75F dew after the rain shower, I bet if you had a PWS in the forest near the grass you might have gotten near 80F.
  2. 14-0 lead might be enough of a lead for him to give up a couple bombs.
  3. How do the Red Sox blow this tonight? 10-0 lead in the 4th inning so far against the Rays.
  4. Either way it’s really uncomfortable so doesn’t matter, ha. Summer nitpicking.
  5. They strike me as more marine coastal plain influenced? I’ll have to look closer on a map. I’d assume given the fluidity of the atmosphere there can sometimes be separation between like EMA inside of 495 and outside? Like how FIT is drier sort of removed a bit from the immediate coastal plain? Just spitballing. Edit: Yeah I could see that air getting to ASH too looking on a map. I saw CON/MHT low 70s and assumed ASH was similar but it is quite a bit further S. Looks like ASH and LWM at 75F now. I dunno, 78F seemed a bit high but wondering why they had 4-5sm visibility haze with those high dews too?
  6. What the hell? Didn’t know that was possible.
  7. I see nothing wrong with the ORH dews today though. FIT was mostly 70-71F, BDL mostly 73-74F… ORH is right between them at a higher elevation and was 72F all afternoon. Not seeing how ORH is 3-4F low there… so they should be 75-76F dew like 700-800ft higher?
  8. What’s the elevation difference between ORH and ASH? ASH actually seems like the dew point outlier to be honest comparing to FIT and other area stations. No other official stations are seeing sustained 78F dews in the interior.
  9. Good god man. Now on my bucket list. Norway's topography was something special and this looks right up there with it.
  10. Ha yeah that’s serious if you have a 77F tarmac dew at 90F.
  11. Had 0.20" rain early this morning and I was afraid if the sun came out all that would do is juice the low levels more. Still damp out there. Had more clouds than expected and you can tell from BTV's AFD they are a little concerned on the clouds and temps running 3-5 behind guidance. It's really not bad out there without sun.
  12. The Yankees actually started doing much better when they turned into the Scranton Rail Riders. That happens when you get guys trying to prove themselves vs established guys who were playing flat footed and comfortable they won’t lose their job. If anything as Sox fans we should’ve wished they kept trodding out that product they did the first half of the season without adding the scrappy AAA guys trying to prove something.
  13. That and 14 for 17 with RISP in past 10 games. But each night it’s another guy. Whitlock has been in rookie of the year discussions and of course he picks tonight to have his 2nd blown hold of the season. Just said he needs to learn faster in the outing… said after they plastered a few hits Boggie came up to him and said they are ambushing fastballs. He then struck next two batters out throwing just change ups. Sucks to see him get hit a bit, he owned it after the game. Barnes has just forgotten how to get batters out after he signed his contract extension at the All-Star Break.
  14. Getting that thick natural base down in November is an absolute game changer. That year was a monster snowpack season due to that start. Basically starting Dec 1st in 2018 with what we had last winter in Feb/Mar heart of winter.
  15. Barnes with 3rd blown game in last 4. It’s incredible.
  16. Looks like it’s Whitlock tonight. He picked a great time to finally decide not to get everyone out. Every night a different player regresses, it’s incredible! That and bases loaded 2 outs and JD barrels a ball 395ft and the reason it’s not a grand slam is he hits it to the triangle in center. Perfectly placed fly out.
  17. Terrifying that the Rays have the most come from behind wins in MLB (just ahead of the Sox) AND they lead all teams in runs scored in both the 8th and 9th innings.
  18. Warm evening. Mid-70s even up at the picnic tables.
  19. What also hurts is that going on a terrible two week rough streak isn’t completely uncommon (the Jays, Rays and Yanks have also had some rough patches)… it’s that those three teams have the best three records in all of MLB since the All-Star break. Timing the best records of the division rivals with a terrible two week period is no bueno. If they were playing .500 ball it would be much less noticeable.
  20. Ha plenty of it given in the sports thread. Luckily they were off yesterday so they couldn’t find a way to lose. The tides have turned, the Yankees tried so many times last night to lose that game but KC said nope, you can blow 4 different save situations but we’ll still let you win. That’s some first half Red Sox stuff there. The two teams switched from finding ways to win to finding ways to lose.
  21. No doubt. With time, hospitals will figure out “best practices” for giving care. It was certainly a learning curve. Over time it became obvious extra sites were overkill.
  22. I do believe the extra hospitals were overkill, but my sister who is a pharmacist for patients in a NYC hospital has shown personal photos within the Mount Sinai hospital system where the lobby was filled with beds of patients being short of breath. Not going to share her personal photos. Discovery Channel has made a documentary called “The Surge at Mount Sinai.” It was one of the few spots that maxed out… of course being in NYC in the very beginning, people were curious what was wrong with them too.
