  1. It gets very snowy in a hurry at 1800ft.
  2. Yeah it looked real nice at elevation this morning. Nothing below 1300ft here and 1-2 inches above that.
  3. White rain here. Loud, sounds frozen. Flood lights show fast moving frozen cores falling. Leads me to believe it’s snowing up the road. About as expected with this WAA precip. BTV radar suggests above 1500-1700ft it’s a more pure snow. It usually takes up to 1,000 vertical feet to go from full, cold snowflake to melted rain drop… the radar signature from bright banding and what’s falling here confirm a 1500ft+ snow level for accumulation.
  4. We are a very lucky society/civilization to be honest. Spoiled. But that's a good thing. Just need to keep it all in perspective sometimes. America is a great place, not without its faults, but a place where the spoils of capitalism/excess/innovation all intersect. There will be ups and downs on that journey though for sure.
  5. I think radar is more bark than bite with this one. 1-2" possible above 1,500ft... coating to 1" below IMO. A widespread 0.07-0.20" QPF type event.
  6. Saw this video on FB from Bretton Woods today... what a scene. Another Alex in BW? Definitely had a good snow event yesterday there. Probably one of the snowiest looks I've seen from any inhabited area in New England from that event. https://www.facebook.com/afalk/videos/468840374562506
  7. Seems dry at the surface still but I see flakes on the Snow Cam at 3,000ft. So it’s moistening up, looks like it just started up high.
  8. 18z EURO continuing to signal upslope event tomorrow afternoon and evening.
  9. 18z HRRR had a good shot of water along the Northern Spine.
  10. BTV AFD snippet: As these westerly winds increase, upslope snow will ramp up with favorable snow growth over the mountains. Froude numbers will generally be in the 0.8 to 1 range supporting slow moving flow and heavy upslope snow along the spine of the mountains. These areas may see storm totals in the range of six to nine inches of snowfall through Tuesday morning.
  11. Need to get above 2000ft to get the better pasting.
  12. I want to say that cam is around 3200ft? I'd have to check but it's a bit above 3,000ft. The 12z EURO continued with a strong orographic signal for the 24-hour period from 15z Mon until 15z Tues. Something is going to happen in that time frame, just trying to figure out how robust. Deep layer NW flow from the surface up through 700mb and beyond during that period. The trajectory is pretty much perfect for the N.Greens.
  13. We came in with ~2" at the Lookout snow cam... similar elevation to the Sugarbush 2". Looking at photos from others it seemed a bit deeper on the Gondola side of the hill, maybe 3-4". But 2" will be the number into the seasonal snow tally, with 9" so far in November. https://player.timecam.tv/express/index.html?C=D786BEJG4F5A
  14. J.Spin jackpot on the 6z EURO for the upslope event Monday evening. 12z GFS also decent signal.
  15. You wonder if the upslope signal coming up is legit. 00z GFS Day 2-3 precipitation.
  16. Shrewsbury, VT between Killington and Okemo. The ULL and deepest lift occurred on a trajectory from S/C VT northeast through the Whites.
  17. I'm intrigued by that event for sure. There will be some elevation dependent WAA snow/rain ahead of the upper level low.... a dusting to maybe 1-2" with a brief period of snow at 1-1.5kft+. Then the backside WNW cyclonic flow with CAA/cold air advection... some spots (re: ski areas) could see 3-6" IMO on the return flow.
  18. lol chicks dig someone who has a passion. And someone who will run out to get take-out from the popular Matterhorn Bar… it just happens to be located the closest to the base area, ha. Right hand turn out of the drive, and cruise a couple songs up the road to the promised land.
  19. Quick hitter. 9pm and moving out of this area. The race was always between the cold air and the drier air moving in. A good "spring training" type event for NNE to dust off some of the cold season synoptic knowledge.
  20. Awesome site. 0.5 mile visibility and the road surface just went to "ice" from "wet" ha. Good details.
  21. The gradient moving through your area now! Ranging from 32F at Bretton Woods to Jefferson, and still 40F in Gorham/Berlin valley. Looks like it just pushed through Randolph.
  22. Had to take the weenie drive up the road. Mixed rain/snow in the 700-1,000ft range, all snow by 1,200ft and then coating of white above 1,400ft.
  23. Classic "hammer time" pattern of the warm conveyor belt making the hammer handle and the cold conveyor belt making the head of the hammer.
