  1. Not sure on frost, the data BTV keeps is "freeze" climatology... but even the notorious cold pockets like Lake Placid and Saranac Lake are decently into October for record late. Like the mean first freeze at Saranac Lake is September 10th (so already passed) but record early is August 20 and late is October 13. So there's a pretty wide range of possibilities there it seems. Island Pond, VT is similar first/last wide range.... late August to mid-October with a mean in mid-September. Again that's 32F freeze climo, not necessarily frost which can happen in the mid-30s. I would assume those cold spots could be comparable to HIE, so likely late record 32F maybe in that October 5-15 range?
  2. What a day. Boring weather is Top 10 weather. Widespread low to mid 70s for all with dews upper 40s north to low 50s south. September at its finest.
  3. Blue Jays lost to the Orioles too. That's insulting to the Yanks given the past couple series. Blue Jays just smoked that four game series and then lose to Baltimore. 162, anything can happen.
  4. Haha, all joking aside though, you can tell we are seriously fighting climo now if that graphic is a torch. It was only 2-3 weeks ago where a “torch” would be 10F higher and the numbers that start with 8 would start with 9. My biggest take away is how fast we went from multiple days of 90-95F at BDL being a torch to now 80-85F is it. Another step down and 70-75F will be a torch.
  5. I was just looking at those temps with a 5-7F reduction from BDL to NE hills and thinking that’s damn near perfect weather. 10 days of highs mainly in the 70s outside the valley bottom?
  6. Full on winter-like upslope day at Mansfield. Gusty NW winds had the Gondola running on reduced speed all day, about 0.30” water compared to less than a tenth in town, and temps in the mid-50s base area. Mark it down, today was the first day I felt “cold” in a while … having to warm up inside from time to time. Car had 55F leaving the Mansfield lot.
  7. It is frigid. First day shivering a bit at the Mtn, wore shorts lol. 56F and 0.27” so far today at 1500ft and strong NW winds. Feels like a cold 56F too.
  8. Today is definitely a cold season type of day.... gusty NW winds, upslope sheet rains and misery mist, and temp is 57F at the base area at 1,500ft. Has that appeal of an upslope cold season day.
  9. No his theft ring is when your favorite tree disappears from your yard in the middle of the night.
  10. Some good cloud viewing today in the moist, convective environment. Evening glow and TCU.
  11. Regardless on your stance about it's use as THC or CBD, the plant itself always looks nice. Tall green growth. 63/62 outside. Still some humidity outside, only threatening to rain but no measurable.
  12. I feel like Halloween Candy came out at Shaws Supermarket up here when they put away the 4th of July stuff. They have a “seasonal aisle” that they always seem to be one full season ahead of reality.
  13. Yikes. The talent was so hot it burst into flames?
  14. Good luck MPM. Congrats. Just a cloudy day up here today, still a bit dewy though. Plenty of water from yesterday, the mountain is soggy.
  15. I could see it. MLB rules are very weird with COVID. If you are vaccinated you do not need to get tested as much as unvaccinated, despite those players still transmitting it if they have it. Based on Cora and Bloom’s statements I could see the Sox just testing everyone and often. And MLB telling them they don’t have to. And they are like nah we are good, going to test all, not just symptomatic.
  16. Not up here. Hard to keep 70F when climo really nosedives in October. It’s a losing battle eventually.
  17. The goal is to extend the period of time with highs in the 70s… be it in the spring or the fall. That 70/50 that some on here find so boring… just let that go for weeks and weeks.
  18. Ha yeah they said that throw was like 320 feet I think. Think about your local high school football field and have a buddy go down in the far end zone… try and hit him in the chest with the baseball on one hop from the other end zone. It’s insane .
  19. Yeah nothing but respect for Jeter. The fact that his final at-bat was a walk-off hit in the bottom of the 9th is awesome too. He played with dignity and respect for other players and the game. One of the greats.
  20. Rain ended so emptied the Stratus… 1.77”. Good drink for
  21. Just a lot of water... Stratus is overflowing so no idea on total but the PWS next door on the edge of the golf course just crossed 1.60".
  22. Was on the golf course as this rolled in. Just got to the clubhouse in time. Now, 90 minutes later it is still pouring.
