  1. Its about as impressive as a warm season event gets at short/no lead time, no? What a prog.
  2. Holy crap. Sale was ok with 2 ER in 6 IN but only 3Ks. Cole showing 1 ER in 7 IN but with 15 Ks!? This is awesome in the warm season. Cold season is a toaster bath up north. Get it out of the way now.
  3. That first part is insane. 1.6" in 15 minutes on mesonet station.... in an urban area like Staten Island/NYC. A tenth of an inch per minute. Yikes!
  4. It was nuts! Looking on Instagram for #Stowe and like 15 of the first 20 are from this evening's sunset, haha. I think a dozen friends posted it too. Everyone in awe. Here's my version walking the dog around the soccer/lacrosse/softball fields in Stowe.
  5. I wish we could get Pete back. Still miss his always positive vibes.
  6. My dad says like a bit north of 1.50” already. He’s only got one of those cheap garden gauges that goes by half inch.
  7. Left NE CT about 3.5 hours ago and now back up north, but that was some efficient rain already this afternoon… water running down the chasms in the dirt roads there created by previous rains. You guys are in for a wet night.
  8. Like watching a train wreck. I know what’s coming but I can’t turn away. Sort of like when a healthy snowstorm was looking fantastic 48 hours out but you just slowly watch the next 6 model cycles take it away. You keep checking in each model cycle just to make sure it’s really happening
  9. Yeah it’s a Wild Card race now. I think 6-7 players out positive with COVID now? Most of the bullpen, Barnes, Taylor, Sawamura, etc, Kike Hernandez, then Bogaerts got pulled mid-game for a positive test. He’s very tight with Devers, who is now playing shortstop for many games possibly (lol) if he’s not positive. It’s not even competitive at this point, almost comical. Just get a wild card game with the Yankees, ha.
  10. Great chamber day in Boston. Dews 54-56F and temps 83-84F all afternoon with a good breeze. Those dews make all the difference, felt pretty dry.
  11. I had no idea the damage in ‘38 went that far north just straight through NNE. Good graphic man.
  12. That’s crazy. 10-15mg for me is relaxing though I still feel much more sober/mentally with it than after say 2-3 DIPA’s. It hits me more of a body relaxation than a mind altering substance, less euphoria but just very content. Sleep insanely good too vs I sleep like absolute crap after even a little booze. A few beers or a couple drinks gives a much more euphoric buzz but less control over your actions which is always the risk with alcohol.
  13. Around 4.5” for August with today’s half inch. NE CT does that before breakfast some days though .
  14. Back down in CT for a night then a night in Boston… just started pouring and look at the radar, lol. A little blip a mile from the border. Might not even be at @DavisStraight’s location and he can’t be far from here.
  15. I overtook you the past two weeks. Most posts ever for a summer banter thread.
  16. That makes more sense… it seemed personal. Everyone has life experiences that shape them… like my mom grew up with an alcoholic father (my grandfather), she thinks booze is the devil. She doesn’t let it get in the way of fun but I know how much she hates alcohol. I’m sure if your family is impacted by a drunk driver or a loved one died of lung cancer from smoking, or a gambling problem caused financial issues… your opinion on those vices will be strong and that’s totally understandable.
  17. Yeah I mean people can get drunk, they can smoke two packs a day… state gets money from those vices. Horserace betting. Cigars. Might as well get some tax dollars if folks want to relax by other means too. Plenty of vices are legal that can harm society much worse too. Edibles or tinctures are healthier than alcohol, smoking cigs or cigars by far. It’s not even close. No liver damage, no lung damage, etc.
  18. Summer till the 20th then snow chances by the 1st? Always rushing through fall/autumn.
  19. Like drinking Coors Light vs a strong bourbon. 100mg gummy bear sounds terrifying.
  20. Yeah just like casinos, big tax misses for the states.
  21. Terrifying creatures when hidden in ski trails. They will be dead silent and still in the high grass until you are like 3 feet away and then this flying basketball goes straight up in your face. Sometimes you can see their scrotum looking necks in the grass side eyeing you. When I have the dog she sniffs them out and has found some massive flocks of like 30 birds hiding in the tall grass… she’ll chase one that takes off running and then all the sudden there are 30 flying basketballs going in all directions. They surprise the crap out of me most of the time. So silent until you are on top of them.
  22. Definitely a group who hates the bookend seasons and finds that beautiful sunny cobalt blue sky 70 degrees with nights in the 40s and 50s boring or something. They want to go straight from winter to summer and vice versa. Always holding onto the warm season but then flip to try and rush the cold season in. Skipping the months of nice boring weather in between. Like the thought of 72/43 and sunshine is just dreadful lol.
