  1. Nada mas. 3-16 with RISP will eventually get you. I’m just impressed they didn’t completely mail it in when losing 6-0. They made it interesting. Sooner or later one of these replacement pitchers was going to get rocked.
  2. They’d have tied this game already if they had some disciple last couple innings. Not giving up yet.
  3. Still waiting for that perfect Arizona summer with no rain and every day outside all day. Bit too much rain since July 4th. Stein can camp in my yard.
  4. Shows how long it takes to remove the abnormally dry designation… still seeing that from May/June dry weather. Been pretty wet since mid-July… not SNE wet but the garden hasn’t needed water for a long time.
  5. The funny thing though is most of those snow seasons that featured September snows at the picnic tables in the 1980s were terrible winters on the whole. Must’ve been cold September’s and then meh winters.
  6. Those are the years I see the snowfalls for Mansfield from… like a 4” event in Sept 1986, 1” in 1989 and 2.5” in 1991. There was 5 measurable September snows in a decade there from early 80s to early 90s… not a single measurable September snow since the 1990s. Looks like a trace in 2009 but other than that, nothing even remotely close to September’s from 1981 to 1991 when it seems snowfall in that month was almost regular. I’ve seen freezing mist, super-cooled droplet clear icing in September up on the hill, but I always look at those past records like how the hell were they getting 1-4 inch events in September with some frequency.
  7. Yeah wasn’t he the morning guy on one of the National shows? I vaguely remember him and Al Roker overlapping at some point. TWC in the mid ‘90s was my drug of choice .
  8. A guess would be wherever COVID discussion is happening. He’ll hopefully be back when it starts snowing up at his NH place.
  9. That 9th inning was like a punch to the nut sack that turned into a hand job. Never know what’s going to happen.
  10. I’ve noticed it subtly as well, nothing that would ever show up in a photo but yellowish green and some species is going more towards purple than green. I don’t think any normal human would call it “color change” though… just a subtle hint that something is in the works from the deep dark green of mid-summer.
  11. Wife was meeting a friend… through wife’s level at work, we had comped rooms at the Boston Park Plaza. Stayed on the top floor (15), crazy vibe sleeping in that city environment. I enjoy it as an opposite feeling to here at home up north. Boston is a cool city… on the water and north.
  12. At some point everyone here melts down and acts like they are 8 years old and just got their XBox taken away (aka ECMWF takes away their snowstorm).
  13. Wet means bugs up here. High water levels, standing water in the woods and fields, bugs are excessive.
  14. What a horrible way to go. Sucked into a 36-inch storm sewer pipe. “Police in South Plainfield said they were helping drivers in the flooded area of Hadley Road and Stelton Road around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday when they heard a woman crying out for help, “about (Reddy) being swept into a 36-inch storm sewer pipe.” Officers, with help from the Middlesex County Water Rescue Team and police units from Piscataway, determined that Reddy and another man were being swept into the pipe — which travels under Stelton Road from South Plainfield to Piscataway. Emergency units were able to rescue one of the two men. Reddy was found the next morning in a wooded area behind the 1300 block of Centennial Ave. in Piscataway, police said.”
  15. Absolutely dude, good post. James was watching it all unfold from the beyond.
  16. Yeah I believe since the COOP went automated years ago I think it’s always been a tick warmer than the old housed thermometer when the summit was staffed… but this summer there has been a daytime difference between our ski area Gondola top and the summit. Gondi top is always a few degrees cooler daytime. Early morning they seem to match but like 12pm-5pm they are different. If I’m looking at that MADIS correctly, it looks like it runs warmer in the summer and then fixes itself more in the winter. That’s sort of matches my gut feeling that peak solar it seems to run warm.
  17. Yeah I've noticed the MMNV1 station seemed to run a bit warmer in sunshine this summer... afternoon temps seemed sometime to possibly be a tick or two warm, especially in sunshine. I don't know if the sensor is getting some exposure to sun or rocks warming or something. Seems fine in precipitation, nighttime and clouds. Either way, I think this is the coldest it's been in quite a while up there as I mostly remember low/mid 50s on the colder days this summer.
  18. The Covered Bridges survived another summer. If the rain that fell last night in SNE was up here half the towns in VT would be completely cut-off. Can’t even fathom it. That’s a ton of water.
  19. Mansfield is 48F and MWN is 37F at noon. Pretty sure these are the coldest 12pm temps in like months. I know Mansfield hasn’t been sub-50F in an afternoon since like early June maybe? July 3rd was 50-52F.
  20. Crazy rates. So many flash/flood warnings.
  21. This is all you need to know. That’s an overload to any ecosystem and human infrastructure. Ignoring the heavy rains before and after.
