  1. We’ll have quite a bit of that coming up with average mins already 50-52F. Lots of 40s overnight en route for C/NNE.
  2. Another 0.47” this morning in a line of storms. Keeping the ground soaked. Garden is absolutely insane right now.
  3. Yeah we’ve had small birds hit our sliding glass doors before… it was just jarring to see this like three foot wingspan turkey just slam into the building, not even a window/mirage that tricked him. Maybe it was the green paint or something lol.
  4. I’ve seen a bunch of weird wildlife stuff. But one of the weirdest things I’ve ever seen happened early evening. This turkey was flying wide, big circles. Wingspan was decent, it seemed very stable, and cruising at a good speed. It started heading towards the Midway base lodge and slammed into the second story wall. Dead on impact. Sometimes small birds slam into windows but this was weird, no optical illusion in the solid wall and it’s a decent sized bird. Didn’t try to avoid it at all, hit middle/middle in the second floor.
  5. It's a muggy evening, temp has reached the dewpoint before 10pm. Mist and fog settling in. Occasional showers today with low ceilings in the mountains.
  6. 0.27” in morning showers and now another round moving through. Nickel and dime, just like winter.
  7. Today had an autumn vibe... gray, chilly, breezy, with wildflower ground cover changing color.
  8. Yeah it’s so sad. Most of the shelter deliveries up here seem to be from the southeast US too when the shelters announce new arrivals. Texas to Georgia zone. No idea what they do to dogs down there but must just be a combo of rural, year round warmth, and lack of spay/neutering? A lot of the places that don’t see freezing temps or at least it’s less common, seem to have a ton of feral dogs just roaming around towns too. I remember spending a couple weeks in Arizona back in high school on some habitat for humanity trip, there were dogs everywhere and none seemed to belong to anyone in particular. Just wandered around town, hung out at the gas station looking for scraps, etc. it was shocking because they were like squirrels are up here… you see them everywhere just lazily wandering around.
  9. I feel like I’ve seen that snow map in numerous snowstorms in the past decade lol. Maybe not those amounts but that axis is a classic for needing therapy up north .
  10. Good grief these games are insane. Martin Perez tonight. Someone always loses their mind. Funny Tom Caron on the post game mentioned agita too .
  11. Our mutual friend did say you keep the town of Tolland up-to-date on weather, well done, they seem to trust you. I forgot to tell you but last weekend when down there Graham was like “so how the hell do you know Kevin W?” lol.
  12. Gerrit Richards has played the stopper the past few nights. What a wild ride if in June we were told Richards would become one of the more reliable bullpen guys .
  13. Lol I do think he loves those low-60s rains. Like when I was down in July and it was raining I remember one evening responding that my wife and parents are chilly… “WTF are they drunk? It’s 62/62 and raining. It’s a magical tropical evening.”
  14. That smoke in Tahoe has been wild. I know most of the ski areas have had to shut down all summer activities due to poor air quality. That’s a huge economical hit for all businesses in the Tahoe summer tourism season to get that in August.
  15. Low to mid 60s north, upper 60s to low 70s south today. Crazy how the 12pm temperature here is cooler than the dew point was for most of the last week.
  16. All ball busting aside, it felt like a humid summer. But most summer's feel humid to me and it's very hard to quantify it so we use data where we can. I would wager it may have a higher than normal number of big dews w/ heat up here. We have drier heat quite a bit in the mountain valleys, where hot days have dews in the low-60s. But in order to have healthy precip amounts (and likely some wet ground feedback into the bottom 2-meter level) this time of year, you need some Td. The recent stretch has been rough, it was full high-end summer. Sort of like winter has a minimum side, this was summer's peak IMO.
  17. There’s certainly some room between those statements. Like a snowy winter where someone says “that was the snowiest winter we’ve lived through!” “No it wasn’t, let me show you, a few years ago there was more.” “So you’re saying it didn’t snow this year? No snowstorms at all right?”
  18. I saved this while it was happening… pretty localized lol.
  19. Yeah what summer was that where it was warmest ever at BDL, mostly due to Mins… 2018? That one was king I think.
  20. Snow! Fall foliage, plenty of time outside still, maybe even more time outside without the dews the next few months. Stay positive .
  21. It feels phenomenal out again. Upper 50s instead of that low 70s crap is a huge sensible difference.
  22. You my man are a hero. Hats off. Dogs are the best.
  23. Immaculate inning by Chris Sale tonight!? 9 pitches, 9 strikes, 3 outs.
