  1. Left the mountain at 6pm and there was no new snow at 1500ft. Road becomes snow packed as I head down the hill and at home theres 3/4ths of an inch of fine small flake snow…every twig is white and looks beautiful. Very odd but seemed like freezing mist or drizzle at the mountain but light snow in town.
  2. Is it bragging? It’s wintry, on Christmas. White. Snowy. It’s not brown dead vegetation (stick season) and it’s not wet. I get it. It’s a holiday of appeal. Like July 4th… sunny and 78F is a warm fun holiday, maybe it’s not 86F high-end summer, but it fits with the tenor of festivities.
  3. All ZR here though seems like low level snow grains falling now. That pixie dust stuff. Wasn't much precip, probably a tenth of an inch of water equiv but the snowpack around home is now very loud. Like shattering glass. Pathways and packed down snow is a skating rink. Trees light glaze, cars all locked up in ice. Merry Christmas to the crew here.

  5. This morning in Mtn Ops “You know what this mountain needs right now? Some freezing rain.”
  6. 19F and raining in Stowe Village, ha. Light snow now at the mountain at 20F. 4,000ft is 31F.
  7. Impressed it went through ALB area and SW where the 'rents still live in the winter. The hometown had 3.0" just SW of the city. That's a pretty decent band of snow going from central to eastern NY and through parts of SW Mass, N CT, RI and Islands. Nice streak there on a line from upstate NY to the Islands.
  8. That’s awesome. After all of that the past 2-3 days to end up with a plowable snow is a helluva Christmas miracle. You hear any Woodstock/Union reports?
  9. This is insanity. Crested Butte, CO’s snow cam. This morning. And then 5 hours later. Still hammering.
  10. That’s the best one yet! Literally laughing picturing him bitting his screen after reading TauntonBlizz’s posts.
  11. Nice for DIT, those radar images are sweet. He couldn’t draw that up any better.
  12. Icy tuck. Cool mesoscale loop it’s got. Stable ZR zone while mid levels stay torchy.
  13. Mansfield Stake today... not ideal. It's been a rough start to the season for natural snow but I think it's mostly the rain events/thaws we've had so far. That one warm week really did a number on it though as some good momentum was building a couple weeks ago.
  14. I'm not going to lie, I thought the same thing but looked it up. Learn something new everyday. General Gau's chicken, often called General Tso's chicken, is chicken that's been battered and fried, then coated in a fragrant, orange-y ginger sauce that's spicy, tangy, sweet, and hot all at the same time.
  15. Looks icy on that run. P-type map looks icier than 2-m and 925mb but RT 2 area of Mass seems slick on Xmas.
  16. The 26th is starting to show up on the Euro now. GFS still much stronger.
  17. It’s so unlike any other model that it borders on bizarre even at this lead time.
