  1. I loved Ray's "LBSW".... figured that's what he meant. We all know where we want the Mother Nature to leave the white stuff (I mean c'mon, it's too easy).
  2. This one is great. https://en-gb.topographic-map.com/maps/lrfs/Vermont/
  3. No one likes a load blown south of them. Everyone likes loads to be blown on them I guess.
  4. That's wicked cool. Just the casual wild dog wandering around the yard.
  5. Lots of ideas. I’ll try to circle back later.
  6. Yeah 2-4” or 3-6” stuff would be just fine into holiday period.
  7. Like you have been on top of for years, there’s still some compression going on along the gradient that likely indicates faster flow and could lead to less organization, but it’s a good place to start. Would roll the dice with that look any day. Compared to almost anywhere else on the globe those heights are compressed just as tightly around our area into the North Atlantic. It looks great but still run the risk of shredding energy. Negative tilt helps a lot in keeping it together.
  8. The trough/height angle is pretty awesome. Negative tilt in the mean over New England? Let's go. Just off-shore is that vertical south-north anomaly couplet we like to see to not let stuff escape eastward. Increase that Atlantic ridging a bit and that's a real solid look.
  9. Lol look at the snow texture around the Mansfield stake. That’s all you need to know. Firm and weird. At least there’s something white still on the ground I guess. And the texture today on RT 108 (closed) near the Stowe gate into Smugglers Notch at 1500ft.
  10. Could use one of these in ski country ahead of the holiday vacations.
  11. On the positive side, it takes a relatively comfortable and advanced society to get to this point… where people become comfortable and free enough to voice opinions on every possible topic.
  12. Lots of debris and a few trees down on my drive up. These ski racks are galvanized steel and very heavy but we’re lifted and crashed into each other. Groomers said it was absolute mayhem last night on the mountain. Ice rink looking good though .
  13. Powers out. Absolutely roaring wind. This is wild. It’s been hours of this now just roaring down the east slope. Mansfield gusting 103mph as of 2AM.
  14. Cranking. I’m surprised we still have power with some of these gusts. If trees had leaves on them it would be widespread power outages. 73mph the high gust so far on the north slope of the Adirondacks.
  15. Official 60/50 obs for 0154z at MVL/Morrisville-Stowe Airport. 60F… 16/10 Celsius
  16. What’s the obsession with wiped clean or melting snow… isn’t this fascinating meteorology on the mesoscale or am I just being obtuse? Ha. There will be more snow, this is fun for a science nerd. Weenies deserved.
  17. Can see the mixing out over in Phin and Alex's area. Weather is awesome. Can be near 60F at elevation and then 41F down low near the river in Gorham.... and even colder down the river in Bethel. The Androscoggin River... 51F above Berlin, 41F at Gorham, 33 at Bethel.
  18. Can see the mixing southerly flow moving past here and heading east... 58F at the base of the ski area now! A 60F spot at 1,000ft on the west slope near Bolton.
  19. It was gone earlier at home, it'll be back. I'm just enjoying the wonder of it all. I love this stuff. The meteorology behind it all... mixing, inversions, wind. Nerding out. Love these rapid rises and drops this time of year around FROPA time. Strong winds too.
  20. Same thing here... totally mixed out now and experiencing the full weight of the warm 850mb temperatures overhead. As that inversion breaks ahead of the FROPA... here it comes. Obs with the front and just post frontal have some incredible wind.
  21. Dude this is insanity. Full mixing now here. This is MVL ASOS. 39F to 57F from 6:35pm to 7:40pm.
  22. Just busting balls... I don't associate time frames when folks are watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune as middle of the night.
  23. Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Burlington VT 604 PM EST Sat Dec 11 2021 A line of showers is beginning to take shape just east of Lake Ontario. Shortly following its passage, west to southwest wind gusts up to 55 mph are expected. This line will shift across northern New York now through 8 PM, followed by continued frequent gusts exceeding 30 to 40 mph with a few gusts to 70 mph possible. Upstream observations across western New York have seen wind gusts as high as 60 to 70 mph, which supports the likelihood of this occurrence. These damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines, with the potential for property damage, as noted by a number of mPING reports in western New York.
  24. Middle of the night? The dew points are pretty impressive. Mid-upper 50s NYC to ORH.
  25. Yup, weird to see the p-type radar all green with rain in all the mountain areas but pink for wintry mix on the coastal plain and SE of the mountains.
