  1. Another fantastic evening. 66/48. Saw some kelvin-helmholtz waves developing over Mansfield's ridgeline at sunset. Pretty cool to see the waves rolling over top.
  2. I haven’t seen one person say wet weekend… MOS has upper 60s (ORH) to mid-70s (BDL warmest at 75F) both days down there, and those are slanted towards climo. That sounds reasonable.
  3. Just sit and watch the temps at BDL to keep yourself warm?
  4. First muggy morning here in a while, dew of 64F when I left this morning. Now 75/48, back to the chamber weather.
  5. Yeah the NW flow looks to keep SNE pretty nice... 60s and 70s. Total disaster up here though, in the 40s both Saturday and Sunday at 18z. If it's mid-40s at 18z Sunday afternoon that's absolutely miserable. I think it'll modify a bit though for sure.
  6. Nice day up here getting the Gondola ready. Summer season opens Saturday.
  7. 12z GFS has some pockets of 0C 850s spinning through, ha. Probably some snow on Mount Washington. Two different cores rotating through.
  8. It's wild to me that it's 9:15pm and light enough outside to see the cloud cover and walk around without artificial light while having some longer range visibility... with thick overcast and -RN is occurring. Another 10 days until clear skies give us 10pm light.
  9. Low of 45F, high of 78F and now a light rain that probably only brings a tenth of an inch or so... but enough to take care of the garden. Fantastic weekend. June has been real nice so far.
  10. “It was a fun time, but the only thing keeping it from being a great time was that the grass was about a quarter inch too long and it tickled my toes with sandals on. 9 out of 10 type day. At least there was no light breeze.”
  11. That’s when you start looking for the rainbow as it moves east.
  12. Every time it goes from idyllic partly sunny, puffy Cu day to raining I think of you . The "it rains every afternoon" comments... I'm driving off the mountain down into town and it just starts pouring. I'm like WTF, why is it raining. Sure enough, blows up over Mansfield and then the WNW flow pushes it east down RT 108 to town.
  13. I have to look back but it was like June 12th or so like 5-9 years ago I have video of legit -SN above 3,000ft. It’s on FB somewhere. Had to shut down the Toll Road.
  14. This is the summer equivalent of early December when everyone wants it to be deep winter but normal max temps are like still in the 40s. July and August are the January and February go-times.
  15. Haha I’m just busting your balls. I’m certainly not wiping my SUV down daily over some pollen though. My pollen OCD is the porches and decking. I’ll sweep and clean daily. I’ve never been anal about car cleanliness.
  16. OCD- Excessive thoughts (obsessions) that lead to repetitive behaviors (compulsions).
  17. NW flow likes to precipitate on Mansfield, that’s for sure. Raining now. Lots of fluffy powder in winter though.
  18. Those days honestly seem the best, ha. 50F and low clouds coastal plain and it’s 75F and sunny out here.
  19. A bit too many clouds up here today. Satellite looks like self-destructive Cu forming and expanding. Top terminal was in the clouds doing summer prep work, but drop out of the ceiling around 3,000-3,500ft.
  20. Love this! The mowing, crisp painted towers… that’s a crew that cares.
  21. I’m honestly not sure I follow what you are asking here. Complaining about winter pattern in summer over the last few weeks? This year? Past years? Summer hasn’t started. Do we get days with ridging and no troughing?
  22. It has been an absolutely awesome late spring/early summer though. One BN day mixed in with a bunch of AN… we don’t enjoy cold rain but if the trade off is once in a while this for weeks of 70s… it’s not a bad trade. 24 of the last 33 days have had highs >70F despite the average high on June 9th being only 72F. It’s still early in the warm season, average highs are just above 70 right now and we’ve been enjoying it for a month now. +4.6 for May and +1.4 for June up here. So we get one below normal day in a sea of warmth, meh.
  23. Max of 61F today in the valley... currently 57F. What a disaster.
  24. It's like a cold conveyor belt traversing across up here. The Adirondacks were getting a nice deform band earlier.... been like a winter storm evolution. This was a bit earlier... it's now moving through here. It's been like classic synoptic storm with big surge of WAA precip lifting northward through the area and then getting CCB precip on the backside. If it were winter it'd be eastern Adirondack jackpot pivot point .
