  1. 48F this morning. Beat rolls on for now.
  2. 55/54 at both neighboring golf course PWS and MVL. Crisp evening.
  3. 70/55… about what I expected today. Not very summery and cloudy.
  4. Interesting shot there as it looks like the taller grasses look green and fine while the cut/mowed grass is immediately burnt and brown right next to it. Looks like that might be the drainage down there but it’s interesting how it’s literally that mowed is brown and not mowed is green… especially out past the pool in that field. Its almost looks like nature was designed to be more drought resistant than our lawns.
  5. It does feel like 4 out of the last 5 years have been drought indexed in the warm season in SNE. Then gets mixed out with like 40” of rain DIT saw last summer .
  6. Make sure to catch a sunset down on the Waterfront…. aka West Coast of New England.
  7. 81/50 for 35% RH… hitting Chamber levels today.
  8. Whatever folks need to do to make life seem more interesting, ha.
  9. Dews are still low-60s up north, with 63F here. The dry air hasn’t come in yet. It’s not warm with a temp of 64F, but it’s also not dry.
  10. Dodging thunderstorms and the pay-off being good views, while staying dry this evening.
  11. That’s legit. Pines love shedding branches.
  12. Wasn’t it just two years ago you were posting shots of your lawn looking just absolutely toasted? Or was it further back than that? It seems you guys get summers of two kinds down there WRT precip… it’s either a desert or there’s mushrooms growing. No in between. And long haul it all averages out. Like 20-30” in 3-4 months or like 4” in 3-4 months. No like “normal” 12-inches in 3 months.
  13. 59F and sun is a TORCH at some times of the year.
  14. It’s about RH. That’s the easiest way to think about it. 35% or lower in the afternoon is the sweet spot. Chamber isn’t about cold. It can be 67/64 and that’s not COC. That’s moist. 86F with 31% RH is Chamber in mid-July more than temps in the 60s with high RH.
  15. 0.45” on the day. Enough of a soaking to keep the garden going.
  16. Mother Nature “uninstalling” window units from windows in 70kt blasts. I give DIT credit, he will absolutely trade 7-10 days without power for a weather event. Always has, always will.
  17. Some times we all need a little enhancement. Coastal front or not.
  18. I forgot you aren't down in Mass! Welcome north. Had 0.31" this morning. MVL ASOS with 0.48" so the best went just north of here. Humidity bath right now when the sun came out after the early morning water.
  19. When someone sees a couple model runs showing 0.8-0.9" QPF instead of the widespread 1.0-1.4" for everywhere else... the doubt starts creeping in and makes some nuts with the thought of only 8-10" instead of 10-14". That stuff is always sort of funny. "No we are going to get screwed locally. That little QPF notch is very persistent. This event sucks already."
  20. Today is summery. 79/66 Had 0.31" this morning (MVL looks like it ripped a quick 0.50") and the early morning storm is just fueling the low level humidity right now. Those days seem to get the most humid when there's a warm frontal shower or storm, then that moisture is just steaming off the pavement. Visually looks like a moisture bath, ha.
  21. It's true... around these parts it can be sort of like a weird version of suburbia mixed with mountains and wildlife. There are a decent amount of people that stretch into their habitat, but those people do not do a whole lot to dissuade bears. Everyone wants to live as one, ha. No enemies and making no enemies seems to be the bears' MO. They have figured out that they can wander about in search of food and no one will really harass them. My dog barking is the largest deterrent. The bears run wild between the wilderness and the human-generated food sources.
  22. Definitely warmer this evening. 9pm was 70/57 tonight while yesterday was 63/55 at the same time. You can feel it a bit outside. Wearing a hoodie to protect from getting absolutely mauled by mosquitoes is a bit on the warm side tonight.
  23. That couldn’t be any more average if it tried. Climo summer weather, couple 50s dews days but looks uncomfortable next Monday. Stock July.
  24. Yeah average is hot at BDL these days for sure. Like 87F is “normal” I think? I looked it up the other day. Up at your place normal is probably 80F? I know we joke but it’s really about the dews. I know you’d rather 75/70 over 90/52.
