  1. Nearing 70F at the picnic tables too. Supports low 80s in town.
  2. Yeah 18z max comes in with 80F up here so far. Very low RH. Car was hitting 82F in spots around here. This is why I love this time of year. Only time you can get 80F with dews in the 20s is when there’s no leaves on the trees yet.
  3. 75/27 for 16% RH. Just every single day Top 10 stuff. Going back to like last Thursday? It’s been incredible.
  4. Not much green but it’s starting. Still stick season but big change last 48 hours too. I can’t wait for that widespread fresh light green on the hills.
  5. MVL high of 78F, true top 10 day. Ground seems so dry with these low dews and endless sunshine going back to last week. Tinderbox and I know there have been several burn piles locally get out of control real fast.
  6. 79/34 for 20% RH. Love near 80F with dews near freezing. Back-to-back days of like 45 degree diurnal swings. This has to be the greatest stretch one could draw up.
  7. It’s built into the KFS forecast model. Take sensible weather outcome X and add more spice to it in the form of a few more degrees, more dews, more inches of snow, higher wind speeds… get it exciting and interesting. If someone agrees with you, you haven’t added enough extra spin… boost it further. Looking forward to a warm stretch coming up. Been sunny for so long it feels like San Diego.
  8. Large diurnal temperature ranges are the hallmark of great early warm season weather. The mountain valleys have been seeing consistent 20s at night this week, followed by 60s and 70s by day. Relative humidity's have been 10-20% at their lowest. This has led to snow preservation that's fairly good given the temperatures. Dry air like they have out west does preserve the snow... especially north or east facing aspects. The east slope gets the afternoon shadows, while the south and west facing aspects take the solar brunt during the highest diurnal temperatures. It makes a big difference in the spring. Maximum solar exposure on these east slope areas are during the coldest diurnal time of day (sunrise and morning).
  9. Ran into a bear cub this evening on the mountain. Thing was rolling around in the snow for a long time like my black lab. Just upside down legs up and rolling in pleasure. Then he saw me, was a little spaz. Ran to a tree and climbed to the top, then climbed down as fast as he went up, ran back out onto the snow, rolled, then took off towards the other side of the trail. Never saw another cub or a mother, he seemed solo. Maybe a very young guy on his own for the first time? He was smaller than my black lab but acted exactly like a puppy. Just wanted to play it seemed.
  10. Each year you seem to get more and more excited for the warm season… can feel it in the posts. Much more so than your late autumn posts going into winter. Just Fisher tweets, leaf out and warmth 24/7.
  11. 72/24 Best day yet in this series of great days.
  12. 67/24 with RH of 20%.... lets goooo. It's so nice outside. Already done a 40 degree diurnal swing by noontime.
  13. The classic spring diurnal charts.... 20s by night, 60s by day. Temperature rarely lingers at one value for very long, just going up and down.
  14. Going on day 5 of just phenomenal weather. Low of 28F again and then rising rapidly with sunrise. Below freezing at 6:30am and then 30 degrees warmer at 9:30am approaching 60F. Gotta love this time of year and the large diurnal swings.
  15. I could go for a t-storm… really usher in the warm season.
  16. They are coming up here but luckily no insects yet.
  17. What an absolute stunner of a day. Sunburnt too. Full sunshine. 68F with dew of 21F and bone dry 17% humidity. 40+ temp swing today… starting in the 20s and ending near 70F.
  18. lol to me the hard freezes signify nice weather. You don't get that without a high-diurnal trend low RH type pattern. We'll do close to a 40 degree swing today. Ground and cars frozen white this morning with the heat on, while now doors and windows are wide open. 64F and full sun.
  19. What a stretch it’s been. Into the low 60s already after a 27F and hard freeze again last night. RH around 20% with dews 19-25F.
  20. What a stretch of weather. Getting a solid tan going after a week of earning turns... skinning up snow for an hour with this strong sun beating down and reflecting back up at you, got quite the farmer tan going on right now. First pic from today, other pics from a blend of other days this week.
  21. Not going to be good for snow preservation.
  22. Fans look like they are dressed for winter at Fenway… was shocking to see given how nice it is here. Folks look as cold as the bats. Full sunshine, 60s, 18% RH with dews in the teens up here.
  23. 27F last night and a very hard freeze. Certainly no where near planting up here. Now up to 56 and sunshine. Just really dry air masses lately... dew is back down to 21F.
  24. That’s America right there. At-Will employment, one can walk away at any time, or they can chose that what the company offers to them is better than the alternative. Likewise a company can just chose to part ways as well. The system is quite intriguing but it seems to work. Checks and balances.
  25. Tonight's sunset was pretty awesome over Mansfield. I love that it happens after 8pm these days. Long, long evenings outside. We end up eating dinner now at 9pm though when you can still be outside at like 8:30pm.
