Just got to South Burlington to pick up a few things from the “big city” ha…. But holy shit this storm was dropping some insane water. I-89 was almost at a standstill and turning into a river. Just like someone throwing buckets of water on your windshield.

Mid-70s at the picnic tables. 88/66 at MVL. Sweaty.

I feel like we hit 90F up here annually in May now, lol. Early over-the-top roasting has become a norm. Now this one gets more in SNE involved too. 85/66 here .

Beautiful Friday, had to leave work early to go play outside. Sunshine, upper 70s, dews in the 50s, nice breeze. Going to be a stunning evening as well.

Another 0.42” of steady synoptic rain so far today. What a wet 5-6 days. 49F outside and the heat on inside. This time of year is wild, in one day your boiler is going and the next day it’s 90F with A/C.

Seems par for the course in these. Models are too hot and too dry. Start subtracting from T and add it to the Td.

We did go to the Bergen fish market! Pretty cool. Not there but had plenty of reindeer burgers on a two-week trip, ha. Hit 33F last night though only widely scattered frost in certain pockets or properties.

Thanks man. You are completely right. It's the most underrated season by far. I love spring, especially late spring. The sky seems bluer, the trees seem greener, especially against the stick season background. The long daylight tops it all off. Winter sunny days are fun but it's dark by 4:30pm. The clear, Chamber of Commerce weather this time of year is the stuff you dream of. Where even inches of rain get sucked up by the exploding vegetation pretty easily. Dry air and thirsty, awakening plant life... sucks the water up and turns neon green. Fed well. 41/37. All closed up, not letting the heat kick on, ha.

The warmth and 3-4" of rain at the mountain over the past few days has really started to accelerate leaf out. The green line has made it to about 2,000ft elevation, and working its way up. Some of the cooler drainages (like the Hellbrook drainage on right side of the photo) are still waiting for anything green. Still stick season on the upper half of the mountains. Those areas should see soil temps warm quickly now that the snow has completely melted off except for the highest, sheltered pockets. Saturday's heat will do wonders to warm up the ground temps in those areas.

I know you asked Winni but I'm not sure if I've tried that. It's not ringing a bell. Our other cheese that we always had around was nøkkelost. Christmas morning was always nøkkelost and gjetost (brown goat cheese for Winni) on a warm rye bread or pumpernickel... with a side of smoked salmon. I've only been over to Norway once, but man the food is right up my ally.... cheese/dairy, fish, bread. Hearty but basic stuff that gets you through a long cold winter. Fiskeboller is always a favorite in my family... basically "meatballs" but the fish version. Fish balls.

I'm not sure if I knew you were Norwegian or not. My grandparents were born over there and as such, growing up my family would never, ever go without having brown goat cheese in the fridge.

Be special if parts of CNE/SNE could set some all-time May records after just two years ago several NNE stations set all-time May records. Coincidence? Probably not.

Ha, for sure. I am glad you guys are getting some nice weather, especially the south coast. It's a great time of year to be high and dry. Looks like a lot of SNE sites have had dews dip solidly into the 30s late this afternoon and evening. BDL, ORH, FIT, IJD, etc. Refreshing evening down there.

Looks like over a half an inch of water today as it keeps raining, nearly 3" in the past 4 days. Up at the mountain the 1500ft station looks like it'll make a run at 4" in 4 days. Cold season-like cyclonic moisture feed continues. Squally type stuff.

I really enjoyed that 9-day dry stretch where it was hard to even get clouds. Never have to plan outdoor time around the weather… just go whenever is convenient. Hike? Sure whenever. Biking or golf? Go for it, dry all day. Have had plans spoiled like 3 of the last 4 days due to rain, not a fan .

What a wet day, just a steady soaking upslope rain from like noon onward. 0.46” in the Stratus and just shy of 3.00” water past 4 days down in the village. Station at 1500ft base of the ski area has had 3.71” past 4 days. This foliage is going to go neon green with a couple sunny days.

It’s so filthy. This time of year you get a whole winter’s worth of debris, pine needles and dirt littered on the top. The more it melts the more crap riding on top of it, ha.

Fisher in for a surprise when they change that data. NWS reached out for confirmation because one had some doubts about the data. They've been under-reporting snow depth and might be correcting it. This was Saturday, they had 6" or something. Might correct back to 15-16"

We are paying for the beautiful 10 day stretch of no clouds today. 51F and a cold and breezy upslope rain.
