  1. It’s displacing a lot of water before it weakens while on approach. The ocean will be responding, even away from the storm.
  2. Yeah I feel like one of the days was ok, you’re right Saturday had some blue sky.
  3. I feel like I’ve seen the sun once in the last week.
  4. Haha, as long as it’s on the ground when it ends, does it really matter how it got there? Get some 10-15mph breezes and pay Ken to drop trees in the backyard for ambiance.
  5. Probably will have a decent gradient in ENE... more stable air as you move inland? Also SNE and up the Maine coastal plain are generally SE of of higher terrain... so the NE to NW wind flow can go from a bit inverted, to full on mixing as soon as that flow downslopes.
  6. Today’s 79/64 afternoon air felt plenty hot in the sun. A lot of gloomy days with summits in clouds lately though.
  7. Weren’t there some October ones around that time? Like 2004 or 2005? Wilma or some hybrid storm?
  8. It’s been incredible. I think it was some place in the mountains of Maine (not far from Tamarack) that months ago had localized 5-7” rains that washed out everything. I remember thinking that’s wild, don’t see that very often. Then for the next 2-3 months we saw slow moving clusters/convection drop localized 100-200 year rainfall totals. All over New England. Every state, every zone, has experienced high excessive rainfall. You wonder if this has been the most impactful warm season in terms of water damage from flash flooding around New England?
  9. The worst part is folks post about it like what someone desires has ANY outcome on the final result. Its like nails on a chalkboard. WGAF if you root for it or not… no one is changing the outcome either way.
  10. Good to see you back and bringing the classic hits with you . As long as we get one model a day to keep folks invested, this forum will be entertaining.
  11. Yesterday and Friday were drier with dews down into the 50s… but today Dr Dew has returned. Only some light rain at times, just enough to wet the pavement and make it dark/dreary but humid day. 70/67
  12. 63/60 Looks like we got some light rain of just under a couple tenths last night.
  13. 68/58 down in the valley. 50s up here with jackets on, feels wildly different than yesterday.
  14. 61/55 up here right now. Feels decidedly fresher than it has all week. Just about an inch of rain last two days after more overnight.
  15. It’s raining hard. Woke me up. Approaching 3”/hr rates.
  16. Had some good lightning up here too. Took a while to get here and only dropped a quick 0.25”… but two days of plenty of Thunder and flashes totaling just over 0.50”. Keeps it damp.
  17. That’s my issue too, can’t see over the Spine so it’s hitting 4-5,000ft up… but you see 60kts up there, I can see how as a forecaster you aren’t willing to risk not mixing that down.
  18. lol, that’s what some people around Vermont think a severe thunderstorm is judging by comments on BTV’s social pages. Like if it’s strobing lightning and heavy rain, maybe a gust front, it’s a severe storm. By actual severe definitions storms in New England have to be over-warned at an extremely high rate.
  19. Stepped outside of the A/C onto the porch long enough to take a photo? Should go interview them on camera lol… “I have all of these people who don’t think today is a banner day to pave. But it’s glorious out here, is it not? What do you say to those folks?” ”Frank, can we stuff this guy in the asphalt or is that frowned upon?”
