    39/37 at 11pm. It is October after all. It can’t be an absolute torch all the time. Sometimes we do still see normal October weather. It got cold in a hurry this evening. Nighttime temps don’t seem to matter as much to folks, but climate wise these chilly nights are good to see. SLK at 32/31 at 11pm. Coldest station out there.

    And that’s literally in the maritime surface layer. Anyone inland by even a few hundred yards may have had a higher max, but is likely cooler right now? BOS is still 63F at just after 10pm. METAR KBOS 060205Z AUTO 32010KT 10SM CLR 17/08 A3017 It’s been a warm stretch, but that looks to be changing. Some below normal days should hopefully be coming up.

    All joking aside, I enjoy this weather immensely. Low humidity warmth that cools off at night. Whatever the departures are, it doesn’t really matter in a practical sense. Is it nice out? Yes. We may see some flakes very soon too, up at the picnic tables. Next week?

    79F at BDL... 86F last year today. You've got to be loving it too. Oh I’ve been enjoying it 100%. These aren’t negative posts. It’s awesome. 70F even to Caribou. When we do 70s and 80s in October now with some frequency, it’s a nice time to be outside. Just torching departures is how the world rolls.

    High of 75F today at MVL (normal 60F). Beautiful torch. Then I see it was 82F last year, guess they are all torches now, ha.

    It’ll be interesting up here. If it’s cloudy and breezy, could see highs in 40s and lows mid-30s. We’ll hopefully get that clearer night to drop sub-freezing. The 850mb temps are definitely there for freeze… just need to decouple.

    74F so far today up here. What a torch.

    That October 4th snowstorm…. I was only a few years old but have a couple photos of my sister and I in the Albany suburbs playing in the snow in the road while almost every tree branch is on the ground.

    Greta has been on a heater, pun intended. High of 70F today. Now 48F. Cools off fast though.

    Foliage has been progressing fast towards peak in Smugglers Notch and on Mansfield. The mid-slope hardwoods are a mix of green and reds. The first wave of trees are peaking between 1,500-3,000ft. The second wave will be when those green trees decide to flash.

    So, the usual new climate normal. Modification and AN in the means despite transient troughs. Hard to argue/bet against that. But one can hope.

    Yeah that trough middle of next week looks fairly legit. GFS is coldest at 850mb temps… but GGEM and ECMWF also get slightly negative 850s and rotate them around for a few days late next week.

    Only 67F today up here… starting to cool off. Down to just like a +8 type day .

    CON’s average low is at 43F right now, BML at 37F over in NH. There is no doubt the growing season has been increasing in the past decade or two. Growing season is very much in progress at all elevations under the tree-line.

    We should be getting into the 30s at night with some regularity at this point. Average low is 40 currently. The type of thing where a 55F min is cancelled out by a 25F min. And that’s the average low of the current record set, which is already warm.

    Another 70F day.

    September started -1.7 through first 12 days of the month at MVL. September ended at +4.1 . Thats like an all-time torch in the second half of the month. 7 straight days +10< in there too. Yesterday +12, today probably similar to start October.

    This has been one of the best stretches of weather I can remember. Like 6 weeks of perfect outdoor weather. 75/55
