Happy 4th of July to everyone! Our record hottest holiday was the 101 degree high temperature back in 1919. Our chilliest 4th was the 45 degree morning low back in 1986. The record rainfall occurred just 3 years ago with the 1.89" that fell today back in 2019.

Record high for today is 102 degrees from 1966. The record low is 47 degrees back in 1929. Our record daily rainfall is the 3.19" in 1978.

Temperature has dropped 10 degrees here in Sea Isle City NJ in last 20 minutes with the sea breeze kicking in off the unseasonably chilly 58 degree water this AM

Our record high for today is 103 set way back in 1901. The record low is the 46 degree reading today back in 1957. Our daily record rainfall is the 1.78" that fell in 1967.

Here in Chester County we finished June with an average temperature of 68.0 degrees.. This is 1.4 degrees below our average June temperature. This June was the 30th coldest June since record keeping began back in 1888 here in Chester County. The coldest June on record was the 65.2 average temp back in 1907. The warmest June was the 78.0 average temperature back in 1943. It was also our chilliest first month of summer since 2012. We have still recorded no 90+ days this season. Our warmest temperature in June was the 86.7 degree reading on the 17th. Our coldest temp was the 49.5 low on the 20th. Precipitation for June was exactly average at 4.15"

Beauty of a day to be in or near the water. Low 80's inland across most of Chester County PA. Down the shore the sea breeze front crossed the island during the 11am hour....this helped knock temps down from our earlier high of 86.2 in Sea Isle City NJ to the upper 70's with a steady SE breeze.

Today should be only our 11th above normal day during the entire month of June. We will finish the month with our first below average June since back in 2016. The record high for today is 98 degrees set back in 1959. Our record low is the 45 degrees on this date in 1988. The record daily rainfall is the 2.29" that fell 101 years ago today back in June 1921.

The record high for today is also the earliest recorded 100 degree temperature in Chester County history. We hit the century mark on this date in 1934. Our record low is the 49 degree reading from 1988. Record rainfall is the 2.40" set back in 1973.

Record high today is 95 degrees set back in 1959. Our record low was 48 degrees from 1970. The record daily rainfall was the 1.94" back in 1975. We are heading for our 3rd below normal month during the 1st 6 months of 2022

Some rain on the way today with a cold front. Behind the front a return to below normal temps and humidity for Tuesday and Wednesday. Then a warm up to maybe our 1st 90+ day by the end of the week before another cold front passes or stalls near by for the weekend. Our record high temperature today is the 98 degrees from 1963. The record low is the 48 degree reading from 1970. Daily record rainfall is the 2.55" from 1943.

Yesterday was only our 9th above normal temperature day so far this month of June. Today will again be above normal. Record high today is 99 degrees from 1943. Our record low was set on this date at 43 degrees back in 1986. The daily record rainfall is the 3.35" from 1938.

I am starting to get through all of the older data for Chester County back to 1887 (Thanks again to Agnes and The Climate Changer for the help! Below is some updated snowfall data for Western Chesco

Had to adjust the rainfall when I got back last night. The Cocorahs showed 2.08" from the Wed/Thurs event. The record high today is 98 degrees from way back in 1894. Record low was 45 degrees on this date back in 1902. Record daily rain was 1.20" from 1964.

1.24" of rain has fallen so far since yesterday. Our record high for today is 96 degrees set way back in 1894. The record low is the 41 degree reading from 1992. The record Chesco rain fall is the 3.00" that fell today back in 1969.

A firmly non-beachy day here in SIC. Water temps have not come up fast this season and chilly sea breezes have been the rule.

We have fallen just a little below average rainfall for the year to date. Looks like we may pick up enough rain today to put a smile on the many farmers across Chester County! Our record high for today is 97 degrees set back in 1921. The record low is 42 degrees from 1940. The daily rainfall record is the 3.75" that fell back in 1972 with the remnants of Hurricane Agnes.

So far this month we are running almost a full degree below normal temperatures. Normal high temps are now in the low 80's. With increasing clouds today and showers tomorrow we will likely not see temps above 80 degrees until both Friday and Saturday. Record high today is 97 degrees from 1923. Our record low is 39 degrees back in 1926. Record daily rainfall was the 1.83" back in 1978.

Almost all spots in the county made it down to the chilly 40's this morning. Even East Nantmeal we made it down to 49.5....suspect that will be our last 40's till September. Our record high for today is 98 degrees set back in 1923. The record low is 38 degrees from 1926. The record daily rainfall is 1.36" on this date in 1913.

Some mid- to upper 40's for low temps in many of the valley locations across Chester County this AM - only made it to 51.5 in East Nantmeal on the VP Station. Today's daily records for Chester County include a record high of 96 degrees set on this date way back in 1905. Record low temp was the 42 degrees in 1956. Record rainfall is the 1.84" that fell today in 1996.

The record lowest maximum temperature for today is 66 degrees today back in 1973. Our maximum temperature so far during the day today is the current 63.9 degrees. However, at 12:01 am the temperature was still at 71.8 degrees so that will go down as the high temperature for the day and we will not be setting a low max record. But it is probably safe to say this will go down as the coldest June 18th during the daytime since record keeping began here in Chester County way back in 1894!
