  1. Nice snowy afternoon..raised surfaces and grassy areas two to three inches...some roads getting messy
  2. You know as much as this is a bit exciting as it popped up out of nowhere considering my last look over things two days ago, I think I am more amazed at his argument that Dec snows last longer. If they were followed by a cold pattern then sure there's a reason for the term "Grinch storm"
  3. Like recent Dec storms haven't touched away, Dec 2020 mid month most of the area was covered with 8 to 20 inches of snow and then that area to the nw from N PA to NNE with up to 40"....All gone by Christmas just about everywhere
  4. I thought maybe it was less than that heck there's mention of events that have put down a foot of windblown snow in the NYC to DC corridor in April which missed New England .. see some of Ludlum's notes
  5. Its been since 1997 that there was an area wide event in very late March or April. I mean double digit( or at least 8 inches) snows to the valley floor. They have missed northern CT and much of southern mass to the south and north
  6. Early April 1995 had a quick burst of snow where I lived in Central CT. We got a good three inches of heavy wet snow on a Saturday morning if I recall correctly
  7. Great picture though, the sky against the background is beautiful
  8. You aren't kidding I don't ever want to hear that kind of thunder or have it be pitch black at 4 pm in early June..
  9. You are absolutely correct. I never knew about the NE hills until the December 1992 event where the first part was all elevation dependant in CT
  10. Here in death valley was always tough but that more inside track would still get us a bit more snow overall
  11. Even back in the awful 80s NW CT had some ok events and more odds and ends, back when the averages peaked for you there was a much more common type of coastal where the rain/snow line was along I-84 and the Litchfield hills would get clobbered through the berks up to Albany
  12. How much you get? 4-5 here just some spotty wintry mix past few hours
  13. Sleet being reported at KPOU, Bridgeport and back at Monticello Zr at KHPN, Newark
  14. I thought to myself today the models must be giving over an inch of melted to forecast 6 to 10 inches around here, especially when factoring some sleet and zr. GFS only has .7 to .8 qpf....
  15. A few flurries out there, nice wintry day....love the title of the thread
  16. Parts 1 and 2 both were meh....light coating between both
  17. That is the last time I got crushed with a squall here in Springfield. It was at least 1.5 inches and there was thunder and lightning. Since then they have all missed or it's a coating flurries/light snow showers
  18. Great, you can see all the Miller As that produced from The south or Mid Atlantic up through Maine...storms of yesteryear
  19. Correct and those more east forming/passing storms often clip the NYC area including SW CT....
  20. 16.5 for the season after 1.5 yesterday....
