    April 96 was no joke... I lived in Bristol CT in a lower elevation area near Tunxis College Rain and mid 40s became heavy wet snow within an hour or two. Was a quick hit but from 11 pm to 4 am snow fell at rate of 2/hour and occasionally 3/hour. Loud thunder and lightning...10 inches of paste on paved surfaces with a foot on elevated. A wild finish to an unbelievable winter

    Wow, only the 2017 event was 10-11 inches here...the rest all much less Just mind boggling how well most of CT and eastern and central mass did In 2018 we basically went 1 for 4 on the March and April stuff...I was in awe of what was going on elsewhere

    Its not always about the quantity. I would love a good squall, it's been forever. Even twenty minutes of a streamer like you and Will had tonight. After awhile out here you become hardened to it. We are still in a pattern more years than not which still favors the eastern and southeast areas. Sure there are a few more duds mixed in and NNE on the whole is doing a little better but still no sign of a more clipper and or Miller A dominated storm track

    Well some very light snow and a touch of blowing snow, windy...over an inch I would not want to be out tonight, roads will be lousy. You know these two small events (Wednesday) were my favorites on the year. Big storms which only produced slightly more snow than Wednesday were so disappointing this year. 25.3 on the season with today

    You know as much as this is a bit exciting as it popped up out of nowhere considering my last look over things two days ago, I think I am more amazed at his argument that Dec snows last longer. If they were followed by a cold pattern then sure there's a reason for the term "Grinch storm"

    Like recent Dec storms haven't touched away, Dec 2020 mid month most of the area was covered with 8 to 20 inches of snow and then that area to the nw from N PA to NNE with up to 40"....All gone by Christmas just about everywhere

    I thought maybe it was less than that heck there's mention of events that have put down a foot of windblown snow in the NYC to DC corridor in April which missed New England .. see some of Ludlum's notes

    Its been since 1997 that there was an area wide event in very late March or April. I mean double digit( or at least 8 inches) snows to the valley floor. They have missed northern CT and much of southern mass to the south and north

    Early April 1995 had a quick burst of snow where I lived in Central CT. We got a good three inches of heavy wet snow on a Saturday morning if I recall correctly

    You are absolutely correct. I never knew about the NE hills until the December 1992 event where the first part was all elevation dependant in CT

    Here in death valley was always tough but that more inside track would still get us a bit more snow overall
