I'm not native. I was born and raised in Bethlehem, but as far as I know, Skook is a duel definition. Like, "oh, he's from the Skook", or "he's a Skook".
I just call 'em all coalcrackers...lol
I believe it was, as well as a quick drop below freezing. 309 was just wet from Tamaqua south to the 443 Leiby Restaurant intersection, and from there on, it was a sheet of ice.
What a morning, and I'm still sitting in the Jeep waiting to get going. This was my post on Facebook a while ago...
Folks in the Skook, be VERY careful this morning on the roads. 309 south of Leibys is an icy mess, and there's an accident at the 443 Lehighton cutoff. There's also a car down an embankment on 895 going to Andreas per my co-worker. I'm sitting it out with about a dozen other cars and trucks by Central Spring right now after fishtailing it all over the place in the Jeep.
Not doubting you, but what keeps the temp from dropping? It's clear out, and as far as I can tell, no WAA. Tomorrow's high is supposed to be equal to today's 40 I had.
I do believe CTP is going to bust badly with my overnight low tonight. This is what they are forecasting for my backyard...
And this is where I'm at as of 7:45pm...
24.8F
It looks my first night of lows in the teens likely. Current temp is 26 with a forecast low of 17. I suppose I'll be propane torching the trailer valve and inlet tomorrow morning.
I really should move to a different region/climate, but in order to do that, I would have to leave/divorce the wife. She won't ever move out of the region. That said, you are correct about us being a pleasant, friendly group. They all like (or at least tolerate ) me and my warmanista ways.
I used to do sports photos for the Times News down here in Lehighton, and I will tell that, no joke, I froze more often shooting spring high school baseball and softball games than I did shooting football in the fall.
