  1. That's what my friend's wife said to me on Facebook when I started posting about the snow potential on Friday...lol
  2. Saw that and it royally pissed me off. I'm beginning to think this is going to be the year without a summer. By now, I've run my a/c at least a couple times, and have the windows open nearly every day. This year, no a/c and the windows have been opened 5 times if lucky. On a personal level, I've never been so white (no suntan) this late in the year. Only one day was warm enough (for me) to be out in just a short sleave shirt, and as for shorts...fuhgettaboutit...
  3. Ugh...I can't wait for this dreary, rainy, cold pattern to end. I am just SO depressed right now. Between the virus restrictions, being out of work from my regular job, to trying trucking again, which I gave up on due to the restrictions (restaurants closed by the time I parked, 2 hour waits for showers, etc) I just need some nice weather to get out and walk or work in the yard or whatever.
  4. Backyard temp shows 58 here. Phone app shows 54. Either way, quite a remarkable turnaround indeed. Perhaps I can put the heavy winter coat back in the closet again.
  5. When 50 in May feels like 70, you know it's been too damn cold...
  6. I went to the grocery store and for takeout supper at 4:30pm and we were 39 degrees.
  7. Third round of flurries/snow showers here. Other than the fact that it's May 9th, they wouldn't be postworthy, but on Mother's Day weekend, they sure are.
  8. The weather geek in me says, "cool, I've never seen May snow before", but the warm weather lover in me is saying, " WTF?"
  9. Back in one of the prior cold snaps (can't remember which one there's been so many) we got down to 25 in my backyard, and much to my surprise, our bleeding heart survived. I'm hoping that luck prevails again.
  10. Pretty dramatic change. An hour ago it looked like just rain up there.
  11. So in other words, buffets and buffet style restaurants are going to be a thing of the past? Sad, but as Cashtown said, it makes sense. I love Shady Maple, but on a whole, I was apprehensive of buffets even before the pandemic.
  12. Did anyone notice that Pivotal Weather now has the UKMET model available to view?
  13. Honestly, I wish to God that my wife was open to a move to Arizona.
  14. I just looked at that. Why are you guys so high down there? I'm sandwiched between 3 hot counties (Berks, Luzerne, and Lehigh) and our numbers aren't that bad. Unless we're not testing enough here.
  15. Only 3 cases today here, but my county is still at 86/100,000 over the past 14 days.
  16. I certainly get it. In these challenging times (cue the somber TV commercial piano music) we all need to have a bit of a sense of humor...lol But I will stop short of saying I was poking back at you because, well......
  17. One thought comes to mind with this. T.M.I.
  18. And believe it or not, that February when it hit 80 here, I was out in Coachella (Palm Springs) CA freezing because the trough was out west. That winter I was trucking coast to coast, and whenever I was home, the trough was in the east and the ridge out west. A week later I'd be out in Southern California and the trough would be out there and the ridge would be here. No matter where I was it was cold. I couldn't win for nothing...lol
  19. Well, I have never seen snow in May and I've never seen 90 in November, so if we get one, then I want the other as well.
  20. If it snows this year in May, then I hope it's in the mid 90's for a few days this coming November...
