  1. a few years ago while snowmobiling somewhere up north, we came across a smaller tree across the trail, looked pretty fresh. Sure enough, there was a beaver running down the trail just behind it with a big branch in its mouth. Cute, but destructive little fockers.
  2. i have the Ambient weather WS-1001-WiFi and it works great. under $200 and very easy to set up and connect to wunderground. It's all wireless, you could mount the station to your deck railing. Wouldn't get @dendrite approved accuracy, but still get a good idea of temp and rainfall.

  4. uh, if I dont take huge bites and chew thoroughly, i won't choke on my food. if i walk down the sidewalk and pay attention (and not staring at my phone), chances are pretty good i won't get hit by a Car. if I don't jump out of a plane with a potentially faulty parachute, i can prevent that nasty skydiving accident
  5. wut? pretty much all of the listed are entirely preventable
  6. i am confident that much of what you read in this thread is just that.
  7. i got exactly 0.000000000" from that line.
  8. i got rid of my 10k btu beast last fall, just can't muscle it up to the attic anymore. I replaced it with a Midea u-shaped window unit, also 10k. that thing is the nuts. Super quiet, and very efficient. It also doesn't block out the entire lower window like the old one did.
  9. doubles the risk, from what, 0.1% chance to 0.2%? enough about the fukin variants.
  10. so, not something you will tell your Grandkids about?

  12. math fail. I was just under 2” not 3”
  13. that seems low. I’m right around 3” down here at MHT
  14. those of you who are not wanting to get vaccinated ought to read the RIP James thread. Read that and ask yourself if you really want to take that chance, Possible side effects (I had zero (pfizer), or getting really sick and possibly die?? i know the odds are low, but do you really want to take that chance?
  15. it was pretty impressive on the front edge, I was in Bedford over by 114, saw an oak tree on top of a car at the busiest intersection in town, 114/101. wind was crazy, until it wasnt
  16. i remember 40's & 50's and drizzle the entire weekend
  17. you guys who are getting the hangovers, try Toast -Before you Drink gummies i know stuff like this sounds like snake oil, and I thought so too before i tried them. As i got older, i was starting to get some bad hangovers. not wanting to really cut back on drinking, I had read about these on another forum, so I gave them a shot. yes, they actually work. i have a few friends who have tried them, and they all say that they really do eliminate the hangover. Yes, I might wake up tired and a little groggy, but no headache, no nausea, nothing like that. and no, i have no affiliation with the company.
  18. oh i agree, but is it known that the vaccine caused the myo? Or did these kids have pre-existing conditions? or maybe they had the myo prior, and it was not known about? i am just discussing possibilities here. my point is that the article is telling you in its own way that the vaccine caused the myo in these 18 kids, but I am arguing that it is not known.
  19. part of the problem is that people only read/see the headline, exp. on social media. most humans are too lazy to read the whole thing.
  20. screaming this from the rooftops. it may have NOTHING to do with the vaccine. the money line is the part that the rates are no higher than normal. Ridiculous click-bait headline and article, yet again. I got the vaccine a few weeks ago. the very next day, I had a hangover. the headline: Local man hungover after being vaccinated.
  21. warm in June? wow, that's a hell of a forecast. Ben Noll, whoever that is, is really going out on a limb there.
  22. heavy, heavy prayers. there really isn't much you can do. you can try hay bales to stop the flow, and there are erosion control things on the market, but $$
  23. Maple propellers and oak tree boogers coming down with the wind, 1-2” per hours. 6-12”, lollies to 18”
