  1. Holeee shit this just won't let up. I shoveled 1/3 of the driveway earlier and now it's filled back in completely. The only reason you can tell I did anything is 40 feet of 7 foot high banks. It's back to shin>knee deep where I shoveled. At least the town plow hasn't been here since ~3am so the plow pile hasn't gotten any bigger
  2. Tough to measure, I got between 4" to waist deep. For the most part it was knee deep when I came in a half hour ago. I've been under that band, right where it crosses the cone of death, for hours and it's insane. 2-3"/hr being blown every which way, everything is coated an inch thick but trees and branches are blown clean.
  3. Well over a foot, probably more like 15+ but the wind has it moved all around. I went to let the dog out but the drift against the back door is 3 feet high and about 15 feet thick. That's gonna take a while to move Plow pile is up to the mailbox and reaches at least 10' into the driveway. That's REALLY gonna suck to move. On the upside, visibility is up to about 300 feet.
  4. It's here. Temp is slowly falling, down to 29 now
  5. I guess this is the OBS thread too? It's been flurrying here for a bit with a stiff SE breeze picking up @ 31°.
  6. Got some beer and an interesting cheap bottle of Bourbon, gotta get a mixer tomorrow. I haven't started the generator in way too long and only have some old gas so I guess I should get a new gas can, fresh gas and a can of starter fluid.
  7. Barely a dusting here. There are some cool crystal shapes in it. Yeah what's with that Hudson Valley gap?
  8. I don't even want to go out to get the mail. This incoming storm has *shitty* timing. I'm supposed to dose up on that innards cleanser at 6pm Sunday for a colonoscopy at 7:30 Monday morning. I'm guessing I won't be in any shape to go out and shovel the plow pile at 6am right after I take the second dose
  9. Well, considering the last few years I'm already above the new normal
  10. I had to go out to Montauk yesterday. It was weird to see as much snow all the way to the east end as there is up here. They also never came out of the soup so the temp stayed in the upper 30s.
  11. I don't remember those years being that long. I also don't remember what my wife said we're having for dinner in a few minutes
  12. This is definitely the most days with snow cover in the 30 years I've been in this house. It almost balances out the slightly under 2000-2020 average to keep the winter an A. Almost.
  13. Nope. But I have a valid excuse. I was 3 months old.
  14. We just took a ride up.to Tivoli, it flaked along the way, things here are wet at 36° and the sun is trying to win. Looks like it's snowing pretty good over in the Catskills.
  15. Popped up to 38, dropping and snowing now Nah can't be, winter's over Lol
  16. Yep, 37 and snowing now. Fun weather day
  17. Sun went back into hiding but it did its job. Up to 38° now
  18. It was crunchy and ugly until, all of a sudden, the sun came out and *poof*, the melt begins. Up to 35° already and it feels awesome sitting here in the sun with the dog sprawled on the couch
