  1. I dunno, yeah it hasn't rained in a bit but the dew has been thick on the clear mornings and the rest have been foggy. It's crazy dense again this morning, so much so that it sounds like rain falling off the trees. The only stuff in my garden that's needed watering is the hanging plants in coir baskets, that stuff gets parched in just a few hours of sun. After 95+ inches of rain in ~14 months the soil moisture is still good a few inches down. If your lawn is browned out you have the wrong mix of grasses.
  2. The disparity between the haves and have nots over the last 15 months is huge. I move around a lot and the differences are so noticable, from parched to lush and back in a couple of hours.
  3. Can you post a link to that when it's done? I'm interested...
  4. I've always thought of September as a dry month if we don't have a tropical storm of some sort.
  5. So far... Kinda like calling winter over on Feb 15 then we get two blockbusters after that.
  6. So where's Julian? It looked like his backyard got rocked today while the rest of us stayed dry.
  7. Yeah they shut the Dutchess County Fair early as the storm crushed the fairgrounds. It slid by to my east.
  8. It's amazing just how much water fell in such a small area in so little time.
  9. That cell near Mahopac in the screenshot missed me to the east by maybe a mile. I watched the rain shield slide by and all I got was a few wind driven drops.
  10. The ground is warm and the wind never died so the temp stayed up. The radar looks wintry with popcorn cells moving south. The air upstairs must be pretty cold.
  11. I grabbed the hoodie for my 51° morning garden walk. Some things you just have to do
  12. 1.3 total. I feel like I got lucky, just a few miles east is a mess. Oxford CT, Rt 34 is gone! 16.5"
  13. .75 so far today, looks like there's plenty more to come.
  14. 13.47" in Seymour CT! They're devastated in a large swath of CT, roads closed, roads washed out, mudslides damaged gas lines, whole downtown zones under water... It's a mess.
  15. Sort of but $. The RI coast is another silly expensive zone and it gets too crowded. CT and the Sound don't do it for me, yeah it's better east but not enough.
  16. ^^ Funny, every time Maine comes up in conversation I say 'hey, it won't be long until they have a 6 month long summer up there...'
  17. Yeah we have a similar conundrum, FL and TX are out of the question as is most everything south of I70 but we want the beach. We can't afford CA or HI (or Long Island for that matter) so the options are limited. Cape Cod is probably off the affordable list too so... ME or OR? ME is cold for too long so it's not really like being on the beach but it's also close to the mountains. Southern OR is high on the hit list too. At this point we're pretty sure we want the beach but I have to have ez access to the mtns and skiing. Could we deal with AZ or NM? Probably but it's kinda dry. Throwing it out there to see what the hive mind here comes up with.
  18. Wow, that ocean must be boiling with no storms drawing the heat out this year. The potential for an explosive storm has to be really high now.
  19. Some of those cells were pretty significant in CT yesterday too.
