  1. We got model runs to check out, lol. Storm is going to improve even more.
  2. Wow they are getting DEMOLISHED at Mammoth ski resort!!!!!! THIRTEEN INCHES OF SNOW, and that's just tonight!!!!!!!! https://www.mammothmountain.com/on-the-mountain/mammoth-webcam/main-lodge
  3. No more debbing for me, I am a true Believer. Just wow at the N HEM setup!!!!!!!!!! I dont know how to post those maps, but what has been mentioned by highly skilled hobbyists and Mets, is just beyond imagination for this year! We are going to get a ton of enthusiastic model watching this winter! You better stock up on whatever you use to stay awake! If I were in north Virginia, I'd head up into the western Maryland highlands. No two effin' ways about it up there, way north and west and massive orographical forcing will ensure they get buried alive by torrential snows! You be up there, you better get a Palisades-Grade plow!
  4. Yeah along and west of the I95, probably will get a good deal of snow, west of I 81 may get well over a foot. Also well north. Maryland central/west areas should get shellacked fairly well.
  5. Having some rain here in south central Texas, been steady light rain with some embedded heavier showers. Dews are safely above freezing, 49 degrees. Thankful for the rain, we need a hell of a LOT of it down here. This weather system is building up, you're next, Mid Atlantic, only there it will run smack dab into frigid high pressure then turn to SNOW and pile up!
  6. Hell of a gradient! You could drive from Manassas along Rt 28 to Rt 7 and end up spinnin' your wheels from a 10-12 accumulation near Dulles and on NW. I could probably enjoy a leisurely jebwalk while marveling at the deepening snow.
  7. Overall setup at macro is absolutely breathtaking. Lots of fun tracking ahead, possibly into March.
  8. See, what did I tell you? Its getting better! All hands on deck! Check out every single one of those model runs! We are gonna bring this one home! The entire Mid Atlantic is one big prolific snow town! Only FOUR MORE DAYS! We are ALL gonna get shellacked!
  9. Well, I will sleep when I die!!!!! I LOVE those models with all my heart! We are gonna get shellacked by multiple snows! I am a true Believer again! Track the numerical models like The Jebman!
  10. C'mon everyone. Stay up for the model runs. Things will get better. Let's reel this one in. I'd like to see at least 100 members on this topic all night long, enthusiastic for each model run. The entire Mid Atlantic Region is a snow town! We've got this!
  11. Had a 5.9 mag earthquake in Northern VA on Aug 23, 2011.
  12. I used to read WWBB, then joined eastern way way back. Then joined this board. Lots of fun and lots of laughs.
  13. I do, and I often wish we had fifteen models. Tracking is so addictive
  14. Seven Springs webcam https://www.7springs.com/the-mountain/mountain-conditions/mountain-cams.aspx
  15. I want that jet over Texas so bad, that I would give away everything for twenty severe atmospheric rivers over south central Texas, then run thru the Buda streets stark frackin' NAKED! We're DESPERATE for rain down here! This is becoming a multi year drought.
  16. It's high time to head for anyplace west of Hillsboro on Rt 9. Great times!
  17. I know. 1 or 2 inch thump then mix issues, maybe full on liquid later. I take. (As modeled so far, I realize we are still about 6-7 days out.)
  18. That is a lot more than a car topper in Dale City. Anyone gonna stay up for the 12z?
  19. Anyone remember the ice storms of 1994? I forget the dates now, but freezing rain at 19 degrees that changed to sleet, and then that sleet poured and poured down, three inches worth then it glaciated. It was a real challenge to walk on that stuff. It would hit 45 degrees and would hardly melt. There was another ice storm, I think this one started as snow, 1-2 inches also in 1994, then it changed to sleet then just plain freezing rain, that fell most of that night, it piled up about an inch deep. Then it fell to about 6 degrees and froze that glacier nice and tight. I dont think anyone was walking much that morning after. It was slippery as heck, even I was having trouble trying to walk on that sheer ice sheet. For us, 1994 was the winter of the Ice.
  20. March 13 1993. It snowed much of the night, an inch per hour we had 8 inches of pure snow on the ground, then it changed to sleet, very heavy sleet, that hurt , because the sleet balls were so large! Then Ugh. It changed to rain, that became heavy, and it POURED for hours! Then it mixed with sleet later, then with snow, then went over to all snow. The 8 inches that fell earlier froze up, and three more inches of snow blew around on top of the glacier. Anyone from Dale City remember Godwin Middle? The back of it was like a miniature ski resort. The hill was icy as all hell, I had this old beat up plastic sled, I was sliding down that glacier amid the strong winds swirling falling snow and wind blown snow off the ice all around! I must have slid down that thing fifty times! It was so damned COLD, with that wind! It was so fast, that ice hill, and really sharp, if you didnt have gloves you got cut up something terrible! IF only we had stayed all snow! I heard some of the mountains got three feet of snow with monstrous drifts!
