  1. Sun angle isn't an issue until March 15th or so down on LI. If the rates are good with cold temps snow accumulates on the roads during the day before then. After March 15th it becomes much harder to snow cover roads during the daytime.
  2. My Muttontown station is at 154 feet & Syosset is at 230 feet in elevation. 3 miles apart.
  3. You may be correct. Such a slop event I didn’t even put it to memory.
  4. 1am sleet was falling on my roof while heading to bed & at 4am saw on camera wife’s car was white. Knew things were on track for 4-8”. Happy we finally got a storm to produce, it has been over 2 years I think.
  5. Yeah when I went to shovel/snowblow the snow after it ended, the blacktop was down to 4-5” already.
  6. We can all admit failure. This storm was definitely challenging to forecast. I also couldn’t help but weenie you, it was well deserved.
  7. Syosset storm total 7.5”. I’ll submit report to OKX as well. @Kaner587what’s your final measurement?
  8. Heavy snow to light snow as back edge is approaching. I’ll take a final measurement on the board shortly. Probably finish just under 8” is my guess
  9. Syosset 10am measurement 5.3” total. Received 1.5” in one hour between measurements. @Kaner587
  10. Suppression got to him. Or may sun angle melted him away.....
  11. I had 3.8” at 9, matches the intensity rate with your measurement.
  12. It’s dumping in Syosset. I’ll take another measurement at 10 am but looks like another 1” already on snowboard.
  13. Employee in Brewster has around 6” it appears so far. Picture he sent me.
  14. Haha, all is well. Hope the same with you. Glad kids finally get a snow day & can sled this afternoon.
  15. He overthinks his forecasts to his detriment imo. So he’s constantly changing it.
  16. Yep, 7-12” on point and click. 1-2” overnight & 6-10” tomorrow. I’m sticking with my 4-8” call for us on the N Shore.
  17. I really wouldn't worry about the ground temps unless this was early March. Mid-march for the sun angle, if one was to worry about that.
  18. Agreed, it has been two years since Syosset has had one. Our district closed all elementary schools two weeks ago for tomorrow due to voting at those schools. So my kids are home already. Looks like middle and high school kids will get to enjoy the day off as well now.
