  1. Makes sense. You may not like the cold, but it makes snow out of nothing at all.
  2. looks about right for mby. 6" with the intial burst and 2" last night for about 8". My call was 8". Ugliest 8"storm I experienced....but it looks good now. Time to keep adding some arctic powder now....
  3. VERY HIGH SNOW:LIQUID RATIOS, LIKELY IN THE 20-30:1 RANGE. -LOT AFD
  4. yeah mixing in pretty good here
  5. without question. And the morning thump, which is now a pile of slop maybe a frozen crusty reminder until April.
  6. LOT threw in the towel. Morning burst was nice, but in the end looks like event will come up well short of expectations.
  7. LOT already making those adjustments with downing totals
  8. looking out my window currently.
  9. Yup. Pouring flakes. Glad were here for it.
  10. stared at snow in the lights for hours as a kid. Best Christmas gift at 5 was a weather radio. checked out every tornado/hurricane book in the library in grade school-at once. They came looking for me. By college I was calling and talking to skilling about every incoming storm. Dude, took about every call. By early adulthood I despised the late great Jerry Taft and his 1-3" storm calls....than the internet came and I discovered this chaotic lunacy.
  11. I'm figuring 6" easy. Not going to sweat it. In RC I trust.
  12. obv looking for a laugh, but heck it could be cloudy and 35 like the last 30 days. And of course, if this is your hobby my assertion is correct.
  13. Suspect it'll be my biggest most "real" winter storm in a number of years. In excess of 6" with bitter cold air funneling in after. It'll look as January should.
  14. LOT AFD: IN FACT, WARMING TEMPERATURES INTO THE MID TO UPPER 30S SOUTH OF I-80 DURING THE DAY FRIDAY SHOULD SUPPORT A TRANSITION OVER TO JUST RAIN FOR A SEVERAL HOUR PERIOD. WE COULD EVEN SEE RAIN AT LEAST BRIEFLY MIX IN WITH THE SNOW AS FAR NORTH AS THE I-80 TO I-88 CORRIDORS INTO MIDDAY FRIDAY AS TEMPERATURES BRIEFLY WARM A BIT ABOVE FREEZING.
  15. it did do that. Got a solid 3" in a few hours and expected several more hours of heavy snow and defo band collapsed like a cheap suit.
