  1. there's always this weekend's event. I'll see in that thread, shortly.
  2. downstream radar spells the kiss of death. Nowcasting at it's finest.
  3. it was nice having you around.
  4. been along time since we've had a storm ratched up less than 24 hours inbound,
  5. standard 4-8" event trending more towards 4-6". Hopefully, it holds.
  6. yeah.that one last year was a bit deceptive as I recall. Got thumped the by warm air wing and screwed on the defo band as temps rose above freezing. Been a while since we've had a straight on solid wall to wall snow event . Time will tell.
  7. when was the last 6" event at ORD? 8"?
  8. we have some people that aren't going to make it to S-day.
  9. sorry. that was bit of sarcasm.
  10. the 18Z NAM must have laid an egg

  12. this is what we have been reduced to.
  13. TODAY PERIODS OF RAIN. A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS IN THE MORNING, THEN A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SNOW IN THE AFTERNOON. AREAS OF DENSE FOG IN THE MORNING. PATCHY FOG IN THE AFTERNOON. SOME THUNDERSTORMS MAY PRODUCE HEAVY RAINFALL IN THE MORNING. HIGHS AROUND 40. NORTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH. CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION NEAR 100 PERCENT. .......I'm sorry, but what's the point?
  14. yes, than I remember the heartbreak of reality.
  15. ONE FINAL THING NOT REALLY RELATED TO THE FORECAST FOR TODAY AND TOMORROW... IT'S BEEN A BUSY PERIOD OF WEATHER ACROSS THE LOWER GREAT LAKES. INCLUDING TODAY (AS IT WAS SNOWING AT MIDNIGHT), THERE WAS AT LEAST A TRACE OF SNOW ON 5 OF THE PAST 7 DAYS, AND MEASURABLE SNOW ON 4 OF THE PAST 7, IN AT LEAST PART OF OUR FORECAST AREA. THANKFULLY, WE REMAIN IN A "NICKEL-AND-DIME" SNOW REGIME RATHER THAN ONE SUPPORTIVE OF MOISTURE-LADEN WINTER STORMS, BUT WE DID LOG JUST OVER 6 INCHES OF SNOW AT OUR OFFICE OVER THE PAST 7 DAYS. OF COURSE, THIS ISN'T AT ALL UNUSUAL FOR THIS PART OF THE COUNTRY THIS TIME OF YEAR. BUT, MULTIPLE DAYS OF SNOW IN THE SPAN OF 7 DAYS IS SOMEWHAT NOTEWORTHY IN A WINTER THAT HAS THUS FAR NOT BROUGHT A BIG SNOWFALL IN OUR LOCAL AREA. -LOT Morning AFD
  16. decent surprise event solid 2". Looks like January.
  17. Naperville: FRIDAY SNOW, MAINLY IN THE MORNING. TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES. HIGHS AROUND 30. SOUTHWEST WINDS 5 TO 10 MPH IN THE MORNING, BECOMING WEST IN THE AFTERNOON. CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION NEAR 100 PERCENT. Atlanta: Friday Snow, a slight chance of freezing rain and sleet in the morning, then freezing rain, sleet, rain with a slight chance of snow in the afternoon. Snow and sleet accumulation around an inch. Ice accumulation of a tenth to one quarter of an inch. Near steady temperature in the lower 30s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent. Maybe, it's you.
  18. hating where i sit. at this point.
  19. fairly solid consensus at this range. But this is much more late in 3rd quarter. Not close to hail mary time.
