  1. yep. happens, obv. I've enjoyed the past two weeks. But hoping for a transition to fall weather now.
  2. it appears the growing season has ended.
  3. Sidenote: I'll check back in around Halloween in the hopes your screaming warm and dry for December. You can't take this stuff too seriously, my friend, sometimes you have to have a little self deprecation and chalk it up to fun. Though I am waiting with baited breath for you early winter calls... As for current trends. There is nothing better than 80's in September. Sun not as hot, and cools off quickly in the evenings. So I'll take this current stretch as a win.
  4. I've decided your the most accurate guy on this board. Just go with the opposite of your thoughts and it's the best medium range forecasting tool I've seen in years. And I'm not be a smart ass(old school snark term).
  5. I just don't want another Halloween snow.
  6. yes. it will get hot for a bit as the kids return to school....been doin' it for years.
  7. should I start the winter thread? It's going to be cooking.
  8. Acting like a winter storm for my back yard. No doubt. Poured for a 15 minute stretch and now drying up right over my head.
  9. say it again in December. I won't call it out.
  10. Another garden variety early morning event so I don't have to water today. Perfect.
  11. looking forward to the low 80's next week per current LOT extended.
  12. standard fare hot week in mid june to coincide with the pass into summer and the longest day of the year. Nice timing, at one of my favorite times of the year.
  13. I figured I'd avoid comment here and let the pro handle it. Regards.
  14. this from DVN does not warrant a heat advisory: INCLUDING THE CITY OF DUBUQUE 916 AM CDT TUE JUN 18 2024 ..HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING REST OF TODAY MOSTLY SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 80S. SOUTH WINDS AROUND 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH. just the usual approach by them.
  15. oddly, never felt close to that. Must have been the wind.
  16. Looking like a standard mid June 3-4 day heat wave in these parts. Might even get some pop up action to cool us down or the usual blow off cirrus to curb the heat some days. Looking forward to it.
  17. been awhile since i've experienced a good flash drought.
  18. Got my needed rain for the day. Everything got a good soak. Good with a miss south. Bring on the real heat.
  19. I'll enjoy it while I can. Feel like it's been awhile since June started this way: "ALL IN ALL, ATYPICALLY COMFORTABLE CONDITIONS FOR THE SECOND WEEK OF JUNE CAN BE EXPECTED FRIDAY THROUGH TUESDAY, WITH BELOW NORMAL HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE 70S AWAY FROM LAKE COOLING, 40S-50S DEW POINTS, AND OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE 50S."
