  1. Wife and I are getting rapid tests next week so we can go to a friend's house for Tday. An older (70s) couple and their son. I'd rather stay home, but so long as we're neg, I feel ok about going. They rarely go out, so not real worried about getting anything from them.
  2. I wasn't being sarcastic at all, but whatever
  3. This is what I hope our governor looks at before implementing any widespread lockdowns again. I've been going to the gym in the mornings and there is usually <10 people. I feel pretty safe. At night, there's probably 30 or so. This pales in comparison to pre-covid where there was easily 100+ at 530pm. Anyhoo, Maine CDC should have enough data and contact tracing at this point to know which establishments are considered hot spots and not impose a blanket shutdown like Spring
  4. 27.2F at noon is chilly. Too bad it's not going to last
  5. Neighbors will all be spying on other neighbors ready to dial EMS. what a sad joke this is
  6. then why was it setup that way? Who decided the threshold limit had to be that high if what you say is correct about viral loads and transmission?
  7. lol, that certainly is way too high. 32 is what I was used to when running PCR/RTPCR.
  8. No way. People aren't going to tolerate this for much longer. Plus case load should drop quickly by late Spring 2021 with vax rollout.
  9. This is what I am most concerned about. Where does one draw the line on the next outbreak. For instance, if flu cases next season seem to be ramping up more than usual, do we use these lockdowns and restrictions again, knowing that for decades we've never done this for flu? How many deaths would need to be met before restrictions were used? Who gets to decide if 50,000 or 100,000 deaths for flu would be too many and restrictions would need to be implemented. I just think covid has opened the door for future govt overreach.
  10. So you're ok with restaurants and such still struggling with limited seating until middle of next year?
  11. Of course. Even Fauci said that after the vaccine we'd still have to be careful for awhile. Whatever that means. The message isn't always clear, but I got the sense he was implying masks and social distancing still. F that.
  12. And babies. They didn't test that group yet. No hurry though
  13. That's not going to get as many people to want to get the test. Make it OTC.
  14. You must be a convincing salesman to sell something that you don't believe in. I'm curious though, why don't you get the flu vax?
  15. Exactly. I've been tracking the daily case # vs deaths for a few weeks and while there is a small uptick in deaths recently, in comparison to the case # spike in July, the daily death count is pretty stable despite the much higher daily case #'s now. The linear graph really exemplifies the recent case# surge yet daily deaths are still under where they were in April. We'll see what happens after the holidays.
  16. But didn't Mills say any vigorous outdoor activity requires a mask? Someone claims that's what the mandate says, but I'm too lazy to look it up. Regardless, I won't mask up outside unless in or near crowd
  17. Hey I heard VAST had a meeting last night and there is a proposal or something not to groom or open trails this season. Is that right?
  18. When was the last time they didn't open by tday?
  19. Plus you have some silliness to the mask mandates with regards to masking while in public even if there is nobody around. I was taking my usual weekend cycle ride and an older woman coming out of a rural store yelled at me for not having a mask on. Give me a break. I was 40'+ away from her as I rode by at 20mph. I'm sorry, but I'm not masking while cycling and will use common sense approaches when and how to decide when to mask. Stuff like this just continues to divide the country.
