my wife was asking when this was going to be over and how long do we have to wear masks. There's no good answer. Even with a decent vaccine and better therapeutic treatments, Covid will likely be around a long time, hopefully mutating into a less damaging virus. It's not like if we get a vaccine, it'll be like an overnight shift to no more masks and social distancing can stop. What bothers me a bit is how long do we have to play by the virus's rules. Another words, at what point will be in the clear? We could be 1-2 yrs down the road and despite a good vaccine, some will still get it and public health might still be pushing the masks and distancing. For some people unfortunately, they will forever be mask wearers and more anti-social, but I think you're right, eventually a lot of people will grow tired (if not already) of the protective measures and try to go back to normal. This winter is going to be a real test, especially in northern climates where a lot of the outdoor recreation and eating out will largely come to an end. yeah, the prefab is from HillView Barns. Just wish they would do 16" wide. They will do stick built, but couldn't get one till next year.

Been looking at getting a prefab garage (1st/2nd pic) and saw one well priced at $8,000 for a 14'x24'. These are 2x4' construction with garage and side door, wood floor. I wanted a little more width at 16', but they don't make them, so I asked a friend who does construction to quote me for a 16x24', which I term an oversized shed, rather than a garage. There's no slab/foundation, just wooden floor/skid setup. He sent me the quote and I just about fell over. $24,100. WTF! This is an unfinished shed with 5/12 roof, no 2nd story. $62/sqft. That's ridiculous. Here's a pic of what we want (3rd pic). Some how he got $16K in materials, yet when I priced it out at HD I was ~$6500. Labor is $8,000. This just seems outrageous. I know building is hot lately, but I think we just get the prefab and deal with the narrow width.
