  1. We’re so far upstate that the super bowl doesn’t come on until tomorrow morning.
  2. As am I but it’s a lesson that those spiking footballs one way of the other should learn, but they won’t. 4.1” looks to do it here now that it’s very light and skies are brightening.
  3. Yea, I’m pretty sure this is my second biggest total of the winter LOL
  4. After a high of 53 yesterday somehow I just had to shovel the driveway…imagine that. 3.9” on the board and still snowing. Complete winter wonderland out there, trees are all plastered with powder snow.
  5. We were told by someone on Thursday it would be an isolated inch at best. I guess we are isolated and are better than best?
  6. Ya know, people have allergies to things other than pollen…right?
  7. I was surprised that parts of my yard that is exposed is still rock solid, lots of water to go in that there yard.
  8. Violently agree. High of 56 here today. Definitely made some progress on the driveway getting the water to move off it, staying above freezing tonight will help with that too. I’d say half the yard now is bare.
  9. That’s one of my favorite scenes
  10. It’s slick here all day, ice in the morning, water on ice midday, then mud until it starts freezing up again in the evening. Lovely stuff…
  11. A good part of lower Manhattan was also created by “stupid humanity”.
  12. Evening Rich, putting the old Rand McNally to good use I see
  13. So now you can read more threads. It’s still reading.
  14. Totally understand that. It’s the same damn discussion that comes up over and over as to what the coast is, what the metro is, blah, blah blah. It’s clear that not only are many on here not geographers, which is understandable, but some it appear can’t even interpret a map.
  15. Why can’t people take the “what’s your definition of” banter here?!
  16. Looks to be a booming pothole season so we have that going for us...
  17. Same thing over here Walt, nothing on radar but it’s falling, 22F
  18. Here’s the gage at Gardiner that Upton referred to, you can definitely see that and ice jam cleared out near there
  19. The Wallkill is talking today as the ice cracks, moans, and groans and it’s definitely up. The gage that Upton refers to is further downstream, concern about ice jams around here for sure
  20. Good morning Rich, nice find. I guess it was the spring sun angle that melted enough of the ice on the cars that I could finally open the doors again.
  21. Staying parked at 32 and not going below for those five hours here was huge. I just went back and checked, I picked up .34” while at 32 degrees. Now some of that may have accreted on trees, I’m not sure, but if it all had…Would’ve been a game changer around here.
  22. Finally got the mass of ice in the Stratus to fully melt so here are the measurements: 1.68” in the Davis and 2.10” in the Stratus. In looking at the Davis data based on when I went below freezing it recorded .08 before freezing up so it looks like .50” in freezing rain QPF here but there was that .3” in snow here at the end so some of that .50” includes that too. *edited the above as I realized that I had .10 in the Davis today which was clearly some melting of the ice from yesterday. MGJ reported .48” in ZR so my calculations seem reasonable.
