  1. There’s a void of mPING reports in the Mid-Hudson this morning unfortunately. If you don’t already use mPING I highly recommend you get the app and report your conditions it’s super easy and very useful.
  2. That wasn’t a drill, likely a drunk kid trying to be funny
  3. Rain leading to freezing rain produces a different type of ice than freezing rain from the start, it’s pretty interesting to look at up close.
  4. Glad to here you’ve flipped for now, really hoping for the same down here
  5. I hope you guys in Dutchess are holding up well…
  6. There’s close to an hour difference from the time stamp on that map and your post. The mesonets are a trusted source but you can see they are more or less equally spread out to cover the region.
  7. Been sitting at 32 for 5 hours now. Little fluctuations of course between 32.4 to 31.9 but no steady drop below freezing yet here, no complaints from me.
  8. 32/31 here near Campbell Hall, still plain rain but right on the cusp of freezing up.
  9. Up your arse…uh, I mean, have a great time!
  10. Forecasted high was 42, which was my high for the day, been sitting at 41 now for a while.
  11. Well we learned this on the same day. I was looking at the Euro 12z earlier and by 6z is showed .65" of zr at MGJ and the temp was 31. I then looked at the max and min temp for the six hours leadup up to 6z which was 38 and 31. It just didn't add up that it would be that much freezing rain over those six hours with that range in temps.
  12. I know that @Juliancolton mentioned this in the main thread yesterday but people have to stop looking at Freezing Rain qpf maps and thinking that's how much ice will accrete on trees and power lines. NWS Upton even has this stated on their Ice Accumulation map but I don't think people even read it: https://www.weather.gov/okx/winter I am definitely hoping for the under on zr but people have to realize that 1" of zr on a qpf map roughly translates into .39 of ice on trees and power lines (rooting for the under). There are many variables but you get the drift.
  13. Early install? Not liking what I see on the models but as you pointed out all that that QPF does not equate to accretion at a 1:1 ratio so we'll see.
  14. The interview is with American, they are already on rescheduling it appears.
