  1. Matches the temperature in the cockles of his heart?
  2. The euro crushes us next Sunday into Monday…what could go wrong?
  3. @rclab Good day Rich, how’d did the “postage stamp” make out?
  4. That sucks about the shade. The small hill and turn in my driveway faces north but with the sun making it’s return towards the north the sand I throw down draws in some heat now. So it’s a win win as it provides traction and some melting. Luckily we should pop above freezing on Monday.
  5. Yeah…I want no part of that. I remember following that online as these boards were in their infancy. As I recall, much of that was freezing drizzle which really allows for accretion. That might be mentioned in that link, I’ll have to read up on it again.
  6. I’ve issued a Flying Ice Warning, you’ve been warned if you’re outside near any trees...
  7. Agreed. I saw video that Central Hudson posted yesterday of trees falling into the lines as they were on scene trying to repair them. Not a good situation.
  8. Go a little north of Oswego itself.
  9. 21 degrees but thanks to the sun and some coaxing I got both cars open and warming up
  10. Agreed. I fortunately had no issues here but a mere 30 miles north is a disaster area centered on the City of Kingston in Ulster County where they had .6 of radial ice. Central Hudson is the power company up there and has 90,990 customers with 44,044 customers without power right now. 680 crews out there this weekend trying to restore power.
  11. A State of Emergency was declared in Ulster earlier today. Not good, half the county had lost power at one point.
  12. Good evening Sir! My grandson is 2 and with the way kids grow up nowadays he’ll probably be posting on here in about three years or so, I’m confident you’ll be around.
  13. I was thinking the same thing. I have plenty of treated salt but it doesn’t work as well on a stone driveway as it does on paved, it just melts through into the ground, which makes the mud that much more ‘fun’. Thus I always have sand on hand too. #1 son just called, they did his interview virtually due to the storm and he got the job he wanted with American. He’s done really well for himself so a proud dad here just wanted to share.
  14. I’m just hoping the sun tomorrow melts enough ice so I can get into the cars and then I’ll assess the driveway situation which is a disaster of just ice although now it’s sleeting with some snow mixed in to top it off.
  15. Wish I thought of that earlier, both cars totally frozen shut.
  16. I noticed yesterday on even my short ride home the amount of potholes that had opened up.
  17. Ulster County took this one on the chin, State of Emergency declared.
  18. Congratulations Walt, hope all are well and healthy!
  19. Glad to hear you have some pellets over there too, let’s cool that column! This has the makings of a “Who’s on First” Abbott and Costello routine if you bring her in when you order more.
  20. Just think of the poor bastard that keeps getting into a cold car and can’t figure out why! Enjoy your time up there ya bastard, it sounds perfect! What’s the over/under on Ubu’s consumed by you today?
