  1. -7 for the low here this morning, currently -2
  2. Road trip to Soda Springs, CA anyone? 4-6' fresh on the way.
  3. -11 wound up being my low this morning. Interesting to note, while I've had plenty of below zero streaks in my 14 seasons here, this is the first time that I had back to back double digit below zero lows, -10 and -11.
  4. It’s a rare occurrence when I can top you.
  5. My 5.7” yesterday melted down to .52” making the ratios 11:1 here.
  6. @Juliancolton and there's today's salt joke LOL
  7. Considering how 'bad' this winter has been, we really can't complain. Of course over the past 10 days or so I've picked up 10" which is whats making the difference along with Nov.
  8. Mornin' Gents. As I was wondering yesterday and @wdrag mentioned this morning in the OBS thread for yesterday, there will be considerable blowing and drifting at least around here. Unlike folks further east and south the snow around here, 5.7" total is powder and fluffy, its gonna blow. Tonight when I get home the snow that fell into the Stratus yesterday will be melted and I'll figured out what my LE was for yesterday. Since we are close to the end of January I looked at my snowfall totals, here is what I found as of this morning: Seasonal snowfall is now: 25.6" Long term average through the end of Jan: 23.5" My running total average IMBY for the 14 seasons through Jan: 22.5" January '19 ranks # 8 out of 14 seasons in my current location
  9. Glad she’s ok. It’s true for me, the older I get the more I hate the risks. 20 years those thoughts rarely crossed my mind.
  10. https://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/md/md0060.html
  11. The mini glacier in my yard under the fresh snow makes for a ‘fun’ walk to the snow board...
  12. 2010-2011 Snow cover (2S KMGJ): 1" or more from 12/27 - 3/6. At least a trace from 12/27 - 3/6. 10"+ from 12/27-2/25 (I think, my snowpack records are light during January until 1/26 when I recorded 14") Max depth I have recorded was 20" on 2/4
  13. I'm wondering about tomorrow, hoping for some blowing and drifting. Those of us near open fields don't need a lot of snow to get some good drifts building.
  14. After yesterday I have about 40% ice coverage in the yard with 80-90% coverage in the woods. Nothing at my snow stake now though.
  15. Snowfall is snowfall. In my records though I do keep a Dec-Feb winter total and well as an annual total for the full snow season.
  16. My 4" snow pack had an LE of 1.09", not sure what it is now, tough to get a core of what I have left but as of this morning I still had snow coverage down in my little hollow but on the way to work I could see open areas took a hit, still coverage in the woods though.
  17. 1.62” here for the total. While I was just out emptying the Stratus the sound of the ice flowing and breaking up on the Wallkill is sure to get ones attention.
  18. I see that KSWF broke into the 50s in the 4am hour while KMGJ didn’t break into the 50s until the 7am hour, not the first time I’ve seen that.
  19. Yeah, after I posted that I looked at some other obs, I guess it finally mixed down here at that time. I’ve had inversions like that before.
