  1. Pressure for down to 988.5 here, 2.91”in the bucket
  2. In my yard I've lost about half the leaves, if not a bit more, I've been mulching them with the mower. The maples I have that went to seed this fall dropped their leaves first, I haven't paid attention to this in the past, is it typical for maples that seed in the fall to loose their leaves first? Anyone? Bueller?
  3. I must admit, some of the sugar maples in my neck of the woods have turned vibrant over the past few days, wonder how much will be left though after the next couple of days though...
  4. 2015 was a stunning foliage year around here, I found this comparison I did a couple of years ago, both photos were taken in 10/14 and then I took the bottom photo yesterday
  5. I fertilized twice. Once in April and again in June. Didn't start to die off until August. Pretty sure it's not over fertilized. I'm gonna rotatil it next Spring and start over Yeah, after I posted I looked at the photo again and saw spots in the distance that still had some green. It just wondered if it was a burn of some sort, fertilizer or chemical. That’s sucks, so frustrating for you.
  6. My experience with grubs had the damage patchy, that is totally wiped out, wow. Did you fertilize? Maybe an incorrect setting on the spreader? I’ve seen guys totally burn the lawn out by over fertilizing.
  7. Just came up the Thruway from Westchester, all of the dead ash trees aren’t helping the views any. The landscape is forever changed.
  8. “Only that day dawns to which we are awake.” Yeah, I’d say that you had a big awakening last year, kudos to you. Fall foliage is so damn tricky. I’m guessing now if the very dry September, 1.27” here got some trees to shut down and dropped leaves because that clearly happened in my yard. Now we’re getting some rain again and the leaves aren’t dropping as much. I’m hoping what’s left will change into some decent color here. We shall see.
  9. Welcome back. The question I have is if the season can be salvaged or its another shitty foliage year for us.
  10. I keep waiting for the colors to pop around here but they are leaning towards the dull side around here.
  11. He’s gotta be a troll. I don’t know how people fall for this stuff so easily.
  12. Some light frost confirmed in my yard with much more in the park.
  13. I’m sitting at 33, don’t see any frost in my yard but there may be some out in the park. KMGJ is at 31 currently. It’s not uncommon for me to be a couple of degrees warmer than there on mornings like this. It’s either that most of the leaves still on the trees and/or my proximity to the Wallkill and wetlands that keep the extra moisture here thus keeping the temp up a touch. KMGJs dew point is 30 and mine is 32 now.
  14. Nice. I got a new Davis VP2 a couple weeks ago. The 24 hour FARS certainly makes a difference here. I typically ran a couple degrees warmer than KMGJ for highs, especially in warmer weather, on the old Davis Vue but I’ve already noticed a couple days I was a degree cooler for highs. I raised up the anemometer so it’s up above the surrounding bushes and tall grass now so I’m actually getting wind speeds now. In the past I only got them pretty much when the leaves were down. I’ll be getting mine online sometime in the next month or so I’m thinking.
  15. Looks like today’s high will be 55, occurred around midnight. So it likely winds up 87 and 55 FWIW. Current temp is 47.
  16. Euro spitting out a high of 91 at KMGJ on Wednesday followed by a high of 58 on Thursday. That’ll get people talking about the weather. The euro has been over doing the highs though IMO but it’ll still be a big change.
  17. When did a dry spell become a flash drought or is there a difference between the two?
