  1. To be fair, that intersection has had flash flooding issues for decades, no disrespect to the deluge today though. I remember in the great '93--'94 winter that intersection flooded during the storm around 1/17 when it dumped snow in the morning, 6-8" as I recall, before a warm front blasted through changing it to rain. That evening the arctic front came through causing not only a change back to snow but a flash freeze that left roads more or less undriveable for a good week. Anyway, when it changed to rain that intersection was under water, not as bad as today but bad enough.
  2. From the Orange and Rockland County Fire page
  3. Just saw a photo of the exit ramp from 84 to 9W in Newburgh, cars underwater, not good.
  4. Get tracks like that in 6 months and have @wdrag starting new threat threads every few days...oh how we pray
  5. It was NW and W of me, I only picked up .10 yesterday.
  6. A real Birch Bender here yesterday, that’s the leader still flopping to the left. The branch that looks like the leader was also flopping over to the left this morning so it’s starting to straighten out again.
  7. I believe it, I’m 2 miles as the crow flies from KMGJ and I’ve seen over an inch difference between here and there.
  8. That’s a great illustration of how different rainfall totals can be over a short distance, especially with thunderstorms.
  9. .58” total on the day, lost power about 90 minutes ago, part of a decent sized outage ...really hoping I don’t need to fire up the generator but this is the reason I have one, we’ll see.
  10. My oldest son works downtown, before COVID-19 hit he would spend close to two hours each way taking the train out of Campbell Hall and then the Path from Hoboken. Even with the coin he makes that commute everyday is not for me. That said, he's been working from a private beach house in SC since the end of March and who knows what the future is as far as remote working for those who can.
  11. Rather loud thunder here with plenty of lightning bolts as the next cell approaches.

  13. Luckily the ground was still moist from yesterday’s more gentle rainfall so not all of it rain off, we got some soakage. Now eyes turn to our NW to see what that line does.
  14. .58” in the Davis .62” in the Status, back to bright sunshine ahead of the next line.
  15. The rainfall rate peaked at 4.14” per hour, .51” in the Davis now with lighter rain still falling, will have to go check the Stratus when it’s done as that was quite the downpour.
  16. Under a cell that popped up just to my west decent lightning and thunder, no hail but a peak rainfall rate of 3.02” per hour right now.
  17. The one hailer is just to my north by a few miles.
