  1. Looks delicious! I can trace back some family to County Cork.
  2. I love that expression, been using it myself for years now, often asking people how much so and so pays them to rent the space you’re giving them in your head.
  3. Oh how dare you Sir! @BxEngine please ban him now!
  4. It truly will be interesting to see how this plays out. You have to give the GFS credit for being consistent with the more southerly snows but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to believe ALL the three models are wrong.
  5. As crazy as it sounds to some, that storm was frustrating because my temp was 33-34 for much of the storm. It was pouring snow but not adding up as much because was it so wet and settling in on itself. It started piling up again once the cold air rushed in and it changed to powder.
  6. You know what one can use pickle juice for...picklebacks.
  7. That’s why the instructions say to measure when the snow stops...
  8. That one I can't complain, 28" of wet snow for me.
  9. I just looked that up in my records, .4" for me, storm total.
  10. That said...I've personally experienced some painful extreme cutoffs in recent times.
  11. I say that you are doing it correctly and @NorthShoreWx would agree, hoping Walt chimes in on this. Here are the guidelines: https://www.weather.gov/media/coop/Snow_Measurement_Guidelines-2014.pdf Same brain, I have two boards so I'm going to try this.
  12. This is always a big debate each winter, whether to clear the board every 6 hours or at the end of the event or 24 hours, whichever comes first.
  13. .9" on the board in Campbell Hall, sitting at 34 degrees with very light snowfall.
  14. Here in central Orange County it started as sleet, around 7:30am, and within 20 minutes flipped to snow, off and on light snow all morning, just some accumulations on cars and some grass areas but not much.
  15. Folks, please don't feed the trolls in the storm threads, do it here. Thanks.
  16. This is 10:1, we should do better than that
  17. There’s that many mountain climbers in da Bronx?
  18. Would be some nice drifting with that wind too. The snow stakes remain out, LOL
  19. I saw it twice too. Odds are there will be some funky things like that happening this week as it looks like this board will be getting crushed during model runs this week.
  20. For some reason I still shake my head at the same posters who only show up for a storm and still haven’t learned much of anything after all these years, including how to look at a model themselves. It’s remarkable actually.
