  1. 42 degrees with blue skies at 6:30 The ULL over Maine is finally shifting east and 500 mb winds are backing to NW.
  2. OK...... Whats your drift????? The first 60 days were warmer than normal. The last 60 days have been cooler than normal.
  3. 115 miles southwest of D.C., the atmospheric smoke is more pronounced than any previous day. It reminds of the atmospheric haze that was prominent during summer 50 years ago, but rare in recent years. 42 at 6 am.
  4. Abnormally dry to moderate drought conditions will worsen during the next 7 days for most areas. There are some indications that the pattern may break down for next week.
  5. 46 degrees at 6 am. This would have been normal for May 2.
  6. 59 degrees at 2 pm on June 4 is 19 degrees below normal.
  7. 46 degrees at 6:30. That's 12 degrees below normal.
  8. A complete reversal of the winter temperature pattern during the past 45 days.
  9. I received a total of 1.16". Waynesboro a few miles from me reported 1.57". But, most of Augusta County only received .02" - .50".
  10. I have been thoroughly disappointed in the globals recently. They don't have a clue which pivots 300 degrees between runs!!!! Anyone who believes their trash is busy looking for beachfront property in Winchester. The worst reality is that NWS still relies on their dribble. This is dismal on NWS. NWS constantly forecasts too much sun and too much wind for my area. The LWX folks??? Yes, I know the crock about how good they are compared to 10 years ago. I believe we should do better.
  11. You beat me. I only live 3 miles from Waynesboro. I received .38" last 24 hrs compared to your .57".
  12. A station 5 miles southeast of Bristol reports 4.26" of rain since midnight!!!!. That ULL is really slamming that area!
  13. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will look forward to your expert eye on the sky commentary next winter.
  14. 34.8 degrees at 6:30!!!!! Tied for the COLDEST May 26 since 1893. It was also 34 in 1988.
  15. The latest ECM brings some generous rains into our region over Memorial Day Weekend. GFS, less D.C. northeast. A snapshot in time.
  16. You are right on the money!!! I have received only 50% of normal in May. Our best wish would be 6 inches of rain over a 2 week period........... About .48" per day nonstop 7 days a week, slow and soaking.............. Some would commit suicide, but WTH....
  17. This morning the GFS, ECM and GEM are all dry for the next 10 - 15 days. Yesterday's 100% NWS .25 - .50" of rain was a total failure.
  18. The latest GFS does not look good for the next 15 days. Drought is highly likely to return.
  19. A reported total of 20.3 inches of snow at Canaan Heights from Monday thru 7 am today.
  20. You're probably right as Spruce is only 14 feet higher than Snowshoe. But, Spruce is 35 miles northeast of Snowshoe. That could make a difference and Snowshoe has been on the southern fringe of qp.
  21. Can you imagine the summit of Spruce Knob at 4862' If I was nearby with a high clearance 4x4, I would drive up there. The road is not bad. Western Highland County Va. reported 8 inches.
  22. The 3715' elevation at Canaan Heights compared to your average 3400' is elevation event on steroids with this event. Do you accept your elevation as 3400 ft., one source says 3300 and another says 3500?
