  1. It’s like when you do home renovations it’s always two weeks away til completion
  2. Almost 15 inches of rain here since 12/1
  3. Todays event just shows you what a ratter it’s been so far normally that’s a 4-8 inch snowfall for most of us but no cold air
  4. Not great so far but the next month is make or break
  5. This part of the winter is like 97-98 great storm tracks but no cold air
  6. When you are waiting for the cold to come just in time it rarely works out-every so often it does which keeps us interested of course...
  7. I never get that-they did that with a tropical storm a few years ago-still called for big winds even though it had faded east enough to end that threat Aug '21 maybe?
  8. 3 garbage winters in a row-everyone is losing their minds
  9. We've been kicking the can the whole winter-first it was big pattern change late Dec-that got moved to mid Jan, 8 days of cold and a couple minor/moderate events then right back to the torch now we waiting for something mid Feb....classic ratter type winter where it's always 10+ days away....and meanwhile the warmth is through the roof--torch December and even Jan will finish above normal....
  10. Then back to a torch for another week after that....
  11. 55 here -sneaky warm with some sun poking through
  12. It's an iffy setup at best and rarely works with Pac polar puke air-you'd have to get the storm to bomb out at the right time and pull in some workable air. Latest trends are weaker/flatter that won't work without arctic air in the mix
  13. move the 1/28 storm talk to this thread:
  14. Ended up delayed by 2-3 weeks in retrospect. If that happens for the Mid Feb time frame we are about cooked.
  15. No cold air no snow...not sure why that's lost on some people. sure there's always the storm where the cold comes in just in time but very rare....
  16. yeah it was around March 10th or so. It was 33-34 in most of the area here with white rain or minor accums on the grass-inland and elevated areas got crushed
  17. Last year? Yes-Western MA had close to 2 feet-we had white rain here
  18. Warmer Atlantic waters certainly playing a role with weaker BDCF's....
