  1. Yeah mums do well this time of year regardless...I have a display on my porch that usually is good until around Thanksgiving....
  2. Problem with that is that there is too little sunlight hours/strength of sun this time of year-so while the growing season might be extended, the plants tend to stop flowering or just look sad waiting for a "mercy kill" from a frost/freeze...
  3. yeah there are a bunch here still-I figured 2 nights of subfreezing would kill them off but not the ones with the nest under our vinyl siding
  4. just need some cold-if we get the usual December Nino +5 or higher forget it....
  5. yeah I noticed the yellowjacket nest in the siding of my house was quiet-guessing they all froze
  6. my kids thought it snowed last night with the thick frost
  7. 40 here, had 2 graupel squalls with temps in the mid 40's earlier...
  8. even the annuals start to fizzle out due to declining sun hours and sun angle
  9. February 2021 too maybe but other than that it's been a torch
  10. seems like a LaNina hangover with the cold dumping into the west yet again...
  11. Was a huge bust-forecasts were low like you said-ended with 10-12 inches, from 50 and rain to heavy wet slop...
  12. 57 here as well-up from 50 this AM-some brightening as well but doubt we see any sun this far north
  13. GFS RGEM, CMC also warm, NAMS say no way....Satellite loop does show the cloud deck lifting slowly north so will be close for you...
  14. Same here-rain every weekend has made things saturated and with vegetation going dormant it's soggier now than say a month ago...
  15. Certainly not from NYC north. We have been stuck at 50 here since yesterday AM
  16. Looked like it would be late day rain....this fall go with the wettest and earlier model-we had showers here starting at 6:30am well ahead of most models
  17. today 80's are fairly widespread-LGA 81 EWR 84, DXR 81 ISP 81 PHL 83. Impressive this late in the year
  18. The NAM and RGEM hold off the rain tomorrow until later especially for S and E sections....we'll see...
  19. schools closed, plow sparks flying with blades on wet roads, silverheads cleaning out the milk aisle?
  20. Had today been clear all day records would have been crushed. High launching pad again tomorrow AM so one more chance
  21. clearing line sinking south of me now-full sun up to 70
  22. Sun finally coming out here-too little to late for any record highs though 67
