  1. move up through central CT after that-nice rainstorm for many with wind...system is rocketing NNE from this point on
  2. Great discussion Walt. I think another factor will be how this thing looks once it gets over Hispanola. It's a weaker system now so maybe that works in its favor vs a hurricane which sees it's circulation disrupted by the large mountains and never recovers.
  3. The trip over Hispanola will be interesting. I wonder what will be left of the storm on the other side....
  4. the ol upwelling phenomenon we see on persistent west winds there
  5. One heck of a hot July though. Many stations are close to +3.5 to +4.0
  6. storms firing quickly over LI now-just missed me to the south but we got hammered last night and then night before so don't mind a break lol
  7. another crush job here-lightning, heavy rains. Closing in on 9 inches of rain for the month
  8. The line way back in NYS might be the one to watch-that won't get here till 8 or 9 though at the earliest
  9. yeah it's fairly cloudy to the west as well. Unless it burns off later....
  10. rain wind and thunder/lightning here-the hot wet month of July 2020 continues
  11. You know you're in the heart of summer with those "low" temps
  12. True-I haven't watered much since the flash drought ended 6/24. Getting some mist here now as well. 69 degrees.
  13. depending if that clearing line to our west works in-we may see sun mid-afternoon on....especially western sections.
  14. temps going nowhere here today with easterly flow 71 degrees at noon
  15. Crush job here as a cell formed on seabreeze front/outflow from another storm, quick .70
  16. If we get big heat last week of the month this could be a +5 or even +5.5 month
  17. We had that 4 incher on 7/3, that inflated our totals
  18. Yep, what looks great (or bad) in October and November doesn't always carry through to Dec-Mar. Last few years seemed to have a development that came out of nowhere and wrecked our winter (last year the PV and also the warm water NE of australia which kept the MJO in 4-5-6)
  19. Yep big ol torch coming this winter after a cold November. It'll be interesting to see if the usual suspects go cold and snowy for a 3rd yr in a row....
  20. my area looked like Phoenix 6/24...since then we've had close to 9 inches of rain-looks like Ireland now.
  21. I'm 5 miles from there-yeah legit-you could hear it roaring over night.
